paint flakes off - do not buy

We built a new home and moved in February 2023. It has only been 7 months and the paint from the basket is already peeling. I went with a less expensive brand for my garbage disposal side and have had no issues with that. For the price you'd think Kohler would stand behind this.

Terrible finish

I purchased the black duo strainer to match the new black Koehler sink. In less than one month the black finish flaked off and exposed a chrome finish. Poor quality and high price.

Black Pint Chipped Off

Within 2 months of installing, the black paint has chipped off terribly. This is a huge letdown, as I searched many places for a matte black strainer and basket. The black ones are much more expensive, so this is a shame.

Kohler Duostrainer sink drain & basket

So far so good. It was easy to install and looks great. Very sturdy piece. I'm waiting to see if anything peels off or it becomes discolored like other sink drains I've previously installed. This is the first Kohler unit we've purchased and I'm hoping for the best.

not a solid color - painted color peels off

Paid plumber 100$ to install a 100$ drain. Plumber was worth the money but the drain wasn't. From the description I was led to believe that this is a bronze and brass drain, neither of which looks like stainless steel, whish is what appears beneath the peeling paint.

Both drains chipped and broken

Ordered these drains and then they sat in the box for about 4 months (typical project delays). The drains initially looked and worked great. The first drain's rim began chipping after about a month. The second drain started after about three months. Both drains have now broken as well. A small metal fitting has come loose causing the "duo strainer" portion to just flop around. I expected more it of a Kohler product.

Color peeled off after just a few weeks

I thought the name Kohler stood for quality but definitely not in this case! Very disappointed, will make me hesitate to buy Kohler products in the future.

Black strainer

Less then a month of use- black chipping off on both strainers purchased. Very disappointed- we even purchased racks for inside sink- have not used any cleaners. My husband will now have to disconnect entire plumbing to fix. Very disappointed.

Color is black

While very well constructed, color is not oil rubbed bronze. Have Moen faucet that is a beautiful oil rubbed bronze, this strainer is just flat black

Kohler Duostrainer Matte Black

I purchased this in September 2022 for my kitchen sink in Matte Black. The finish on this item is already coming off and exposing the chrome below. It looks awful. Unfortunatly this was professionally installed by a plumber so now I have to rehire someone to switch out. Very disappointing.

Started off good

Started off good but a month later it looks just bad!!

Strainer leaks. Has this issue been acknowledged by Kohler.

I have a 40 plus year old Kohler vault toilet which is still going strong. When looking for a new kitchen sink I figured I'd go with Kohler and also paired it with these strainers and baskets. I love the design of the double sink but the ceramic finish is crap. Despite using the Kohler cleaning product for the sinks the finish is worn and stains very easily.
