Multiple problems with this disposal. DO NOT BUY!!!

I installed this disposal a little over four years ago and it has stopped working even with only minimal use. The first part to need replacing was the gasket the drain pipe attaches to. Customer Service was nice enough to send a replacement part, but I had to install myself, contrary to what warranty stated. This is my second InSinkErator and the septic assist does not work.

This is our second Insinkerator Evolution Septic Assist garbage disposal. The first one was professionally installed and lasted for more than 8 years! We purchased the second one and installed it ourselves. The initial installation went well but I did not get the seal properly set between the sink drain and the disposal. I just installed it but......

New to septic tank world. Just got this installed, by plumber, and nothing to complain about yet. Quiet, efficient, handles larger stuff, even though we try to keep it small. Heavy duty unit, take some space under the sink.

Satisfied customer

I purchased this due to the history of quality related to the brand. My husband installed the disposal without any problems. We have had it installed several months and are satisfied. Since this was heavier than the previous disposal, my husband used a carjack to stabilize it, making the install so much easier!

Very quiet

We have only had it a short time, but already know that we love it. It is SO quiet, and powerful. It was somewhat of a bear to install, as it is VERY heavy when you are laying on your back working over your head...but perhaps heavy is good. I wish the enzyme packs were less expensive, as we have a septic system and this is necessary.

Just had this installed a couple of months ago and it works great. I was so happy to hear that we could get a disposal since we have a septic system. When used, it emits a citrusy scent - very nice! I haven’t had to change the refill cartridge yet, so I gave it four stars. If it’s easy, I’ll switch it to five. I’m happy with our purchase.

Great Disposal

I wish I would have replaced my old one sooner. This is easy to use, much more quiet and it always smells good.

Even better than the last version

So far so good. Original Septic assist lasted 18 years, surprised that this version is an improvement (biggest upgrade is noise reduction).

Bio charge no longer works.

One of the things I had to have in my new home was a garbage disposal. I did not think I could due to having a septic system until I found out about this unit. I used my first bottle of bio charge but second bottle did not work. I bought another bottle and that did not work. I have been spending a lot of time trying to get it to work. The disposal is super quiet. Great installation instructions too. I’m a novice and it was very easy.

Quiet, Quiet, Quiet!

So quiet that it's almost like it's not running. Smooth operation with no vibration.

Replacement

Replaced a ~19 year old InSinkErator septic assist unit with the new Evolution Septic Assist. New unit is much quitter.. Removal/installation was simple due to the lock ring design and the process only took about 30 minutes. One word of caution, disposals are heavy. Unless you have the arms of Thor, lifting it in place with one hand and turning the lock ring with the other is not doable while hunched under a sink. I used blocks of wood to lift/hold the unit in place.

Good product at a reasonable price.. Installation is about average. Quiet operation.

Works well, although we try to limit what goes down the desk .

Our plumber recommended this product. We are pleased with insinkwrator brand so went with his recommendation. So far no issues.

I want to love it, but it fails to dispense Bio Charge.

Easy to install. very quiet. But its premier feature does not work. It doesn't dispense the Enzyme fluid.
