Insinkerator Badger 5

The Badger 5 is an upgrade from my original Insinkerator and is able to handle within reason, all of my disposing needs. It turns a bit faster and is smoother and a tad quieter than the original Badger. I'm overall pleased!

Just like the one it replaced...

only quieter. The installer told me all the things not to put in the disposal. I am not so sure I even need one now with all the limitations - no egg shells, no seeds, no bread, no pasta. Why bother? It is the same as what I had which should have lasted longer. The price was very fair but the installation cost was exorbitant!

Replaced Old Unit

Original Badger lasted 30 years but started to leak. Replaced with same unit and was a very quick change out..

No need for a plumber!

Hardest part of my disposal replacement was removing the old one. Once I figured that out rest was easy. Very good instructions & I even did the video. Would recommend this to anyone needing a disposal replacement.

Quiet and thorough

In this month we have had our new garbage disposal I have found it to be serviceable and it runs so quietly! It is most efficient!

So Silent

This was so easy to install and we can’t believe how quiet it is! I had to check to see if it was actually on! Definitely recommend this!

Excellent disposal but Time will Tell

This seems to be an excellent disposal. I only rated it four stars due to its replacement for the same insinkerator model that started leaking like a sieve just after the warranty expired. So time will tell if it holds up but for now it seems to be an excellent sink disposal.

Quiet operation

This disposer replaced a 20+ tear Insinkerator that still worked. The new installation was part of a kitchen upgrade/improvement. Installation was easy because it was installed by a plumber and not me!

This is the second one we’ve had.

The first one was working intermittently, due to our own fault of not using it as much as we should have. The plumber told us that lack of use and the fact that waste can sit in the bottom can deteriorate the blade system. Good to know know!!

Great product!

Our InSinkErator was working fine but nearing the end of it's life. Getting rusty inside, where it would eventually wear out.We didn't want to have it fail some unknown time in the future, so we decided to replace it now. We've had not even a moment's trouble with our original InSinkErator so there was no question but that we wanted to replace it with the same brand and model. We're very happy customers!

Good Prosuct

Ive been using the badger insinkerator in two homes spanning 30 years. Each one performs 8-10 years. This last one only 5yrs? Lets hope this recent installed badger grinds for longer.

Great replacement

This is a great replacement for the previous InSinkErator model I had. This one has more horsepower and is doing a great job. I am happy that I purchased this model.

Plumber approved of my choice

I purchased this disposal because it is time tested. We had the same at our previous home. Never any problems and quieter than most disposals.

Great product

The Badger 5 is durable, and easy to install. I appreciate that it’s the same product that I have been installing for over 30 years. When the old one finally wears out, I can just pop the new one in. No planned obsolescence.

Replacing a workhorse

Recently had to replace my 24 year old Badger 1, 1/3 hp disposer. I ordered the Badger 5, 1/2 hp model as the exterior specs were very close to the old disposer. Due to my age I was concerned about tackling replacing the unit on my own but to my surprise the install went almost too easy! I used the original mounting as it was still in good condition and the new unit coupled right up to it with no problems.
