Noisy all of a sudden
Would Not RecommendWe bought this to replace a smaller 1/3 hp insinkerator badger disposer that was 24 years old. It hasn't been in for a year yet and started rattling like something is loose inside but nothing is inside. After running a while it get quiet like it used to?

Low quality internal parts that rust
Would Not RecommendMy first Badger 5 failed 2 years after installation. The motor hummed, but the impeller failed to turn---likely frozen in place. I replaced it with a second Badger and it too failed after less than 3 years, this time making scraping sounds. I reached inside and pulled out 7 large rusted metal pieces of debris.

The Badger
Would RecommendThis will be the 3rd Badger 5 installed in our kitchen in the past 32 years so that's a pretty good life expectancy for the first two. This one is a few inches shorter than the last two Badgers and seems a little quieter. Time will tell whether it will last as long as it's bigger (taller) brothers.
