I bought Insinkerator because I know the owner of Insinkerator, Sergio Varela. Is that correct?

replacement of same unit which lasted 9 yrs

This is a replacement of the same exact model that started leaking from the case. The new one works, reason for 3 star is it's too early to know how long this will last and if it'll be reliable. The original one I replaced lasted 9 years, which I feel should have lasted longer, as I have another house with a different brand which has lasted over 20 yrs.As well as experience with other installs with Well over 10 yrs and going. I can say install is extremely easy.

My Badger garbage disposal is working very well when went used.

Easy reinstallation after failure of Badger 5 XP

I'm hoping this unit lasts longer than the Badger 5 XP model it is replacing, which developed a crack in the plastic housing and began to leak after just four years of light use. The Badger 5 is lighter, a little shorter and has a smaller motor but seems to drain the sink after pot-washing just as effectively as did the previous XP model. Failed but quick, free replacement.

I bought this three months ago and after the first few weeks, it failed. The plumber came back and replaced it because it was defective.

VERY QUIET MOTOR

This Insinkerator product features a very quiet motor when running. It was also rather easy to install.

Replacement for my Old Insinkerator

Overall the product is okay. The only drawback is I have to turn on the disposal for is to drain properly.

Good unit

Not too load and easy to install. Coonected to dishwasher and drain with no modifications.

Second purchase

This is our second Badger 5. The only reason we replaced our original one was it did not successfully handle the dish cloth my wife inadvertently allowed to get into it...jammed and bent the blades. Happy with the replacement...quiet, efficient, and does what we need for a house of 2.

User friendly if you want to DIY

What’s to say. My old one leaked, this one doesn’t. I love the twist on, twist off design. I’m over 70. The weight was almost too much for me. If the design had bee more complex I would’ve had to have help.

Great replacement

This replaced an insinkerator that lasted 25 years or more. It was a Badger 3/4 hp that quite working. I’ve always had good luck with your disposals. It’s easy to replace them.

An excellent replacement for a previous unit which lasted 8 years

Not considered a quality, long lasting product

A quality product should have quality internal parts. The Badger 5 does not. Stainless steel parts are necessary for long lasting use. The fact that the Badger 5 has to be replaced periodically due to internal failure (aka rust) is a prime example of low-quality parts just to save production costs. Cheaper is never better. The Badger 5 is an excellent garbage disposal until it rusts out and permanently jams. I'd be willing to pay more for a quality Badger 5.
