I’m still having issues with intermittent contact of the on/off trigger switch. The replacement trigger switch that was sent was in two pieces and doesn't fully cover the opening in the handle. It still seems to make intermittent contact as well, but not as often. I never used the auger thinking it would be too easy for moisture to enter the cavity where the switch assembly is located and create more issues in the future. My old Ion has been issue free!

Would RecommendI made this purchase strictly based on weight. The gas auger was just getting too much for me to handle. I was very pleasantly surprised by the cutting power the ION has for a battery operated device. I would say the ION and my 33cc gas auger would cut through ice at the rate of speed. Another bonus with the ION is that it has a reverse mode. This allows you to flush the majority of the slush out of your holes. I would recommend the ION to anyone going ice fishing.

Would RecommendLove this thing, it’s so reliable and the battery lasts a couple trips out on the ice. I think I recharged it a handful of times the entire winter. Plus I got an extra battery just incase. Plenty of power. Light weight so it’s not a pain to carry. And way better than a drill. I have buddies that got Drill adapters and there drill didn’t even last the entire season before letting all the smoke out. This thing rips and has reverse to flush the holes
