Sooo much better than the gas ones.

Lightweight, powerful, long lasting battery. This auger is awesome and much faster punching holes than the old smelly 2-stroke.

Great auger, but….

Got the auger and charged the battery. I went to charge the second battery I bought at the same time, the charger would not work. I called them and they said the charger was bad. They sent me a new one, no problem. The new charger seemed to work okay, but then the season ended. It cut ice well, but I can’t say I am real confident in it. We will see.

Alpha Plus 8"

Very happy with the auger, lots of power and light weight. My 12 yo grandson could easily drill holes, in approx 12" to 18" of ice. A little pricy but very happy with it, went from hand auger to gas to drill conversion. Now to this and happy I did!

ION Alpha Plus 8": Quality Meets Reliability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ION Alpha Plus 8" auger is very well built, lightweight, well balanced, and cuts through 14" of ice very quickly. Last season, the ice in my area of Southern Michigan had a slush layer on top of very hard ice. This auger system, drilled without struggling to cut a quality hole and push the slush into the water. This product is certainly an auger that appears to be unstoppable and a quality investment to add to my fishing arsenal.

Generally very good.

Considering the price, it should include a quick release.

New gen3

It’s okay. My gen 1 seemed better. Had a battery that was bad returned any work ok. After that had problems stopping and it was a controller. Both cases customer service was awesome.
