Five Minute, Five Hour, Depends...

Great fan, very attractive design & multiple features. Easy to put together. Five minute is an exaggeration. If your outlet box and wiring do not look like the diagram and you are not experienced at installing ceiling fans, it is still possible to do this. Two people team is good. I bought 2 of these for a large, divided sunroom. I love them! They look great, were easy to install, and are virtually silent!

Hunter is the best!

Bought as a replacement fan--went with Hunter because we have others & have never had problems! Even if they cost a little more, they are well worth it!

Love this fan! Had it installed in three bedrooms, extremely quiet, great lighting, and great circulation.

Good, quiet fan. Very easy to install. Hunter just need to add fasteners for mounting the bracket to a pre-existing ceiling fan box. The hardware kit only came with wood screws.

Don't buy this fan

My electrician had no difficulty with installation and the fan is whisper quiet. My problem, however, is the fan was installed in September 2014 and here it is April 2015 and the lights are not working. I've read the reviews and now realize there is a serious problem with this model's light kit. I have ceiling fans all over the house and I'm not partial to any particular brand. Great purchase!

Not sure why it's called a 5 minute fan as it took my electrician about 45 minutes to install it with a few expletives under his breath. The blades snap on which is certainly a new feature. I purchased the Hunter remote for it & love it. Light switch held down on remote works as a dimmer switch. Pleased with lights that are attractive & give so much more light then the globe lighting I had on my prior kitchen fan. The price was a fantastic deal at Lowes.

Love the fan, extremely quiet!

The fan is extremely quiet and well balanced. Even on the fast setting about all you hear is the sound of room air moving. But idea that it can be installed in 5 minutes is a joke. That said, is was a straight forward installation with no problems. I deducted one star because of an issue with the lighting fixture. More light and quieter fan

I had a noisy fan in my grand daughter's bedroom and needed to change it so it wouldn't wake her. I bought this fan because of the price and a recommendation from an associate. I laughed at the 5 minute part at first. It was the simplest install I have had with a fan. I really like the light kit it came with because the room needed more light and it provided it. The fan is silent during operation a provides a nice flow of air. Thinking about replacing the one in my bedroom with this model.

I ordered this item online, for pickup at the store. It was ready when I arrived, and the transaction took only a few minutes.

Light kits blow out!!

Purchased two of these. First off, it is not a five minute install. It would only be five minutes if you already have a reinforced ceiling box and had installed a hundred of them. Second, the fan works great, but the light kit on one blew out within a month. Hunter did not have the replacement part or fan in stock so they sent me a completely different fan(not a five minute fan). Second one blew out a year later. Hunter did not have the part again. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this fan!

5 Minutes my foot!

Great fan, but it takes longer than 5 minutes to install. Might be 5 minutes just to put the fan blades on. I've installed many ceiling fans over my lifetime and 5 minutes is a joke. Having said that, for the price this is an excellent fan. It's quiet (make sure you are NOT using a dimmer switch as it will make this motor hum very loud), looks nice, and moves plenty of air. I now own two, and might just be one more for my other bedroom.

great fan, easy to install

Five minute install? No. Easiest fan I've ever installed? Yes. Based on my experience with this fan, this is the only brand I'll buy in the future. Great purchase and it works great in the bedroom I installed it in.

Bad light kit

Over the past few years, I have replaced all of the ceiling fans in my home with Hunter fans as they are supposed to be the best. They are very easy to install, good features, and design, but the quality is not what I expect from the Hunter name. The last one the I purchased was this model, and when installed, the light kit did not work. Lowes accepted the return with no problem for a new fan. Nice large fan, perfect for a big room

I like this fan a lot. Wish it had a remote, but that is it. Easy to install and works perfectly!

Nice quiet fan

This fan replaced a noisy 4 arm paddle fan. Since a fan was previously installed, this one went in with ease. The new fan is quiet which is great since the fan is in a bedroom. It creates a delightful breeze.
