5 minutes, it takes that long to get it out of the box.

Five minutes my eye! This fan took well over seven minutes to install. It wasn't really that fast, but the install was very easy and took less than half an hour, including moving a bed out of the way and back into position after install. Very quiet as is expected of the Hunter brand.

pretty easy

I purchased the fan for my kid's room. I have got to say that the install was easy for me as a non- professional. It has a hanger that is great to hold the fan there while you connect the wires. The lighting kit is optional, but you must install the switch and cover plate for it to work. (Note, you will need to go to the website for the instructions for not installing the light kit.) Good value

The fan took way longer than 5 minutes to install. It however, was easier than other fans I installed in the past. It was good that the fan blades just snapped on. The fan was very quiet making it ideal for the bedroom.

Love it so much I bought two more.

Easy to install, very quiet and very stable. The first one was so easy, I bought two more. Will never buy anything but Hunter fans again. Although, I doubt these will ever need to be replaced. I expect they will still be going when I'm not.

Do NOT Buy This Fan - It wobbles like a drunk!!!

Horrible product!!! As others have noted installing is not a 5 minute job but anyone who has installed a ceiling fan can see through this claim. What was horrible was the fact that we could not get the fan to balance. After going through 2 sets of blades and following the balancing instructions to the letter we could not get anything close to a balanced fan. Good purchase

The salesman was very helpful and answered my questions promptly. Altho' the installation took slightly longer than 5 minutes, it was easily accomplished. I am glad that we bought this brand and will definitely consider it for future purchases.

Great product for a great value!

I had someone install this and once the old one was removed and the new base was put in, it was very easy for him to install. I like that it has 2 sides to the blades so you can decide which one you want. It works great, is silent, and looks good, too!

Invalid Product Description

According to the product description this fan "can be installed with or without light kit". That is simply not the case! I called Hunter and after waiting on hold for 15 minutes found out that there is no option to buy a separate cap for this particular fan model, so the light kit has to be installed for the fan to work. I will say that the Customer Service representative at Lowes is willing to take the fan back without the box and exchange the product for one without a light kit.

A cinch to install

We have 5 fans in our home. This is the first one that I purchased and installed myself. Anyone can do it. Some of the professionally installed fans in our home wobble and vibrate. Not this one! Very quiet. Looks nice as well.

Worse fan ever

Less than 2 months after I purchased this fan the light kit went out. I returned to lowes and received another new fan. Again a few weeks later the light went out again. As of today I have changed the light kit 4 times. I would not recommend this fan to anyone.

Good Fan

Was looking for a new fan for our kitchen.Heard word of mouth that Hunter was a good fan.Very pleased with new fan.Very nicely balanced and motor is very silent can hardly hear it running.Box says only a 5 minutes to install.Very untrue.Had my wife help me because it takes 2 people to install.Took us 1 hous and 30 minutes after following the directions.Overall was not to hard of a fan to install.Blades snap right into place and it runs very nicely.Would buy another Hunter product if looking to b...

be careful

The online description says, "Can be installed with or without light kit." This is wrong! It can only be installed with the light kit. If you don't want the lights you will, like me, have to take it back for a refund. Too bad I am out the money I paid a handyman to try to install this incorrectly described item!

Perfectly Balanced

Been a while since I've purchased a fan...always had some wobble even after several tries with the balancing kit. Quality is much improved...fan is absolutely motionless at all speeds. Even the pull chains don't move...I was astounded! Motor is silent and has no hum at any speed. The only sound is the wind noise at high speed. Lights fail after a few months

I bought two of these about 7 months ago. In both the lights have completely failed. i've bought new switches and confirmed all the wiring points but neither could be fixed. I think its the contector module, but Lowes doesn't sell that or light kits for Hunter Fans. I've also done internet search and it appears that many many people are complaining about the lights in their Hunter fans. No more Hunter fans for me

Light Kit Problems

I bought 2 of these ceiling fans in March for my daughter's rooms. In May the Light kit quit working, but the fan still worked. I figured it was a wiring problem. I took the entire ceiling fan down, and the wiring was all fine. I rewired it anyway, and still it didn't work. Since it was under 90 days, Lowe's took it back without any problems.
