Can never go wrong with a Hunter ceiling fan! Bought 2 for guest rooms in new townhouse and had them installed by an electrician. They look beautiful and work perfectly! Even came with light bulbs for lights.

Hunter Ridgefield II 44-in fan

Very nice fan. Easy to assemble and install. Overall quality is very good. Much nicer than some other fans in my house.

Light kit blew

This was my 4th ceiling fan installation. Cutting to the chase, the light kit malfunctioned. 2 of the 3 bulbs in the box were shattered, 3rd bulb was good. We had two other bulbs of the proper wattage. Bulbs blew. Bought new bulbs, nothing. Installed new bulbs in another fixture, they work. Taking fan back. Oh, the fan worked.

Lights out

After a year with the fan, the lights began going out frequently. This was because the light sockets were plastic and became brittle. They crumbled apart and would no longer hold the bulbs. I found out the hard way when a bulb randomly fell out and shattered on the floor. The replacement fixtures require the pull chains for both the fan and the lights, which is nearly the cost of the fan. It's the only Hunter fan in the house, and will likely be the last.

breaks after 3 years

bought 5 fans for a new house on 10-7-14nicoleclifford215. 3 years later, lights do not work in 2 of the fans, called out electrician, he said its the fan. waiting for the rest to break.

Trying the Hunter Ridgefield II

We're ridding our home of the bright brass hardware and fixtures that it came with when we purchased it new in 2001. The Hunter Ridgefield II brushed nickel fan looked like an attractive replacement for the bright brass Hampton Bay fan that we had installed into 2 of our bedrooms some years ago. Light kit is the worst!

Fan works great! 22nd light kit, or rather new fan. Will not buy another one! Light kits goes out for n9 reason.

Worked for 1 1/2 years

Like another reviewer, after about 1 1/2 years of use, the bulbs would burn out constantly. Had to call in an electrician to fix it. In case it was the whole motor, I purchased a brand new Ridgefield II, since when you are paying for an electrician's time, you don't want it wasted with him traveling to Lowes. Disappointed

Purchased the Ridgefield II at Lowe's for our Condo to replace an old Emerson. It was easy to assemble and install but the light fixture wouldn't work. I had to take it down box it up and take it back. Got another Ridgefield II, assembled and installed the second one and this time the light fixture worked fine but the fan was out of balance ... no problem , balanced the fan and that's when the grinding started. Looks good and works well with the universal remote. Has a short downrod for low ceilings.

Awesome Fan

This fan works great in a my daughter's room. Keeps it cool and the lights are bright.

Wouldn't cool a mouse

Nice looking fan but not enough rpm's, even on high speed. Bought this to replace oscillating fan on kitchen countertop but it can't come close to to the other's cfm's. This is the fourth fan I've installed in my house and it is the quietest, probably because of the slower speed.

Bought 2 and only 1 works properly after 2 years.

Bought 2 and only 1 works properly after about 2 years. 2nd fan only has low speed. Lost medium and high speeds on fan. Worst part is, both fans are in the kitchen area. Do I replace one with same thing or buy 2 of a different type. What to do, what to do. :-(

We purchased and installed this fan 3 years ago in our kitchen. It is a beautiful fan. Very quiet. We plan on purchasing another one for our dining room!

Hunter ceiling fsn

We have purchased 2 of these one of the fans totally quit lights work only. The other have on fan speed 1 and 3, light still works. I would not recommend this fan. Always thought Hunter fans where great guality. Very disappointed in these.

Only Good for a Year and a Half?

Beautiful fan. Install took very little time to complete, after a few months lights started burning out frequently, then quit working all together. Now fan motor hums and stops. Hunter used to mean quality. Light problem traced to one small component in light kit, but now motor troubles mean whole fan probably needs replacing. Not going to buy Hunter again.

Faulty Light Kit

The ceiling fan is without a doubt whisper quiet and keeps the room very comfortable -- what you would expect from a Hunter. The light kit is an entirely different matter and makes the fan useless. Yesterday the second light kit which was only 30 days old failed. One light bulb blew and the other bulbs quit working. Replacing the bulbs didn't fix the problem.
