What Customers Are Saying
The trap is effective at catching small rodents like squirrels and chipmunks, though some found it too sensitive and difficult to set properly. It has a humane design that allows for safe relocation, but may be too small for larger animals. Users noted the need for patience and trial-and-error to set up the trap correctly.

Need instructions inside box!!!
Would Not RecommendCould not get Trap out of box because assembly was hung up in box. Had to cut box open end to end. Instructions were covered by a shipping label. instructions I could read were not clear. The reference to “as shown” was not a clear actual picture. thankfully I’m smarter than a squirrel and finally figured it out. Unless you are very patient I would not recommend and I would not buy this model again.
Works.
Worked! Caught a squirrel trapped in our attic. It took 4-5 days to catch.

Works! Safely humanely caught rat
Would RecommendSet it at noon with camera, rat found at 3am, was trapped in 3 mins. Safer than finger breaker kill/maim traps and didn't have to get near rat. Glue/poison kill other animals - Balance the trap door lever on the bait trigger. It will stay. Do not hook it as shown in directions or it will never trip - Ensure the door lock bar is pulled up towards top of the trap so it locks once the door goes down otherwise he'll get out - Place something (metal plate) on top so he can't chew out
Major Design Flaw
Would Not RecommendThe trigger arm catches on the cage and/or the plastic, leaving the door open about two inches. Bought two traps, both exhibited the same problem.
A bit too small for gray squirrels
Would RecommendBought this as a 2nd trap to trap chipmunks. The 1st one I bought is an older model - bigger, all galvanized steel, guillotine-type door - it would trap squirrels and chipmunks and the useful opening size is 5 1/4" w x 5 3/4" h. This newer version is 5 1/4" w x 4 1/4" h. IMHO, this new one is too small for gray squirrels, unless maybe it's a young one or small female. The door doesn't open completely when rigged for trapping, and it's difficult to imagine a bigger gray squirrel squeezing...
