Great doorbell with some quirks

Having been a huge Nest fan for years and owning one or more of everything they have made, I was glad to add a Hello doorbell to our new home since I added a Ring Pro to our prior home before Hello was available. Love the integration to my Nest app but two things have kept me from rating 5 stars:1. While I understand the rationale that a 4:3 ratio allows “taller” captures, I never had any issues via Ring and wonder why Nest (Google at this point) hasn’t switched to 16:9 like all the others. 2. Great product

Works well. The picture quality and night vision are great.

Good product but Bad documentation

The text on Nest Hello use and features is tiny, basically unreadable with tiny font size and pale gray color written on a white background. I called support and was told to change my iPhone SE setting for Display and Text Size/Larger Text/ I Turned Larger Accessibility Sizes ON, and moved the sliding bar setting to a large text size. Almost perfect

as a camera and a doorbell it works great as long as you have the subscription. i only wish that it came with a wedge to angle it down. would be 5 stars if it came with one.

Delayed notification

The notification is delayed! A person could be in front of you before a notification comes through. Seconds count when trying to maintain safety and this fails miserably. Don’t like that at all.

Good when it works

The doorbell and features are great when working. However, I’ve had to replace the doorbell 3 times in one year. Also, the doorbell does not always work with the mechanical chime.

Really Google?!

A few weeks ago, I bought the Google Nest Hello and just recently our free NEST AWARE trial ended, which we plan to resume. Before the purchase I came to Lowe's to look up Google Nest products, primarily the Hello and Nest Cam Bundle. I opted to buy from Google because it was cheaper, the HELLO was $150 for refurb model and as a LOWE's customer and account holder I got alert to check out the 4th of July offers and it just blows my mind that the camera I just got a few weeks ago is now $150 from ...

Great. But maybe too sensitive.

Really good doorbell camera. The picture is great and the familiar face feature is very helpful. The only issue I've had is that the motion detection is very sensitive. I'll even get notifications if a cloud shadow moves. Still haven't figured out if it's my problem or the devices that won't ring the actual doorbell chime. But it's ok since we've got other nest devices which announce that the button has been pushed.

Nest Hello thoughts

I loved how it works and how easy it was to install and configure it, it is a great help to know who is in front of your door without running any risk of attending to people you do not know, and you are always informed of what is happening in front of your house with motion alerts or alerts for loud or unknown sounds if you set it up, I recommend it 100%

Very good

I’ve had Vivint for 5 years and I’ve recently switched to nest. The doorbell is waaaaay better in video quality and it actually records when something is happening. The familiar face recognition is cool but the quality of video is by far the best I’ve seen in any other camera!

Great item

Great product recommend for every one. It's very smart convenient and works with third party parts which helps me since my house doesn't have a doorbell.

WiFi and connection issues

The nest hello is a great item when it works. It was really easy to install and add to my many nest products at home. However, after about 1 week I’ve started having many connection issues, with the camera going offline frequently. I’ve done every diagnosis. Checked voltage. Installed an extra WiFi extender next to the door. But it still goes offline intermittently for hours at time. If you can’t rely on it, then it’s not a good product, and I can’t recommend it.

I love it

Now I can sit in my office, in the base. and see who is at the door. Or be in NY for the weekend and see who is at the door. It's great !!!

Nest Hello

Works better than expected. Installed it on newly building area and you can see what's going on near your house.

Quiet time

The quiet time allowed is only 3 hours. You should be able to set it for like 11:00 pm to 6:00 am and break it down for motion and or people.

Works great and is easy

Works great, easy install, and easy to use. Love the face recognition and the package recognition features.
