This product is quiet; I particularly like that it notifies me when the garage door is opening or closing and I like the option where I can disable the door so no one can open it or enter without my permission.

Loss Prevention

Great door opener with lots of features. My only negative is the loss prevention tags on the boxes that began beeping when I moved the box into my shopping cart. Great to deter thieves but aggravating to paying customers.

The Genie is quiet.

The 1 1/4 HP Genie garage door opener is more compact than the 1/2HP opener it is replacing. The belt drive is probably responsible for how quiet it is, which I was counting on. It is nearly silent when you are standing in the garage with it and completely silent inside the house. The unit seems to operate flawlessly at this early stage.

Replaced older model

The positive: Easy drop-in installation of an earlier model (7055) which had failed The negative: Earlier model failed in under 10 years. Was not worth the cost/trouble to repair. Randomly, the previous opener failed. Spent more than an hour troubleshooting but could not fix the problem. Was able to move the opener while reprogramming the upper and lower limits, but the flashing red trouble lights kept reocurring. So far, every is great. It puts out a lot of light. Had all the accessories I wanted. Works great. Pretty quiet.

Lights on 7155 questions

The lights are preset for 4 minutes IS there a way to change this 4 min?? Also most openers when door is open if someone walks in the lights on the motor comes on due to sensors this one does not? Is there a way to allow lights to come on when entering the garage

Don't buy the installation service!

The garage door opener seems pretty good. The installation I bought along with it from Lowe's was a disaster. The installer was 6 hours late and did NOT haul away the old garage door opener as promised. That is going to take another week. Lowe's and Angi each said to take up the issues with installation with the other vendor and neither one was willing to refund even a portion of the installation fees.

Purchased Genie to Replace Failed Ryobi

The Genie was a replacement for a failed Ryobi. Personally, I think the Ryobi was built better than the Genie but the Genie works. I did not care for the belt system. The old Ryobi had a C channel with the belt protected. The Genie has a square tube with the belt outside. Genie's wall transmitter is a wire unit. The old Ryobi was wireless. We will see how the Genie holds up.
