Home run experience

We bought a new house and needed appliances, Robert was extremely helpful and got us set up with everything we needed to have delivered and installed. Installers also were phenomenal. Bought garage door opener with install as well. Very highly recommended experience. You more than earned a new customer

Great garage door opener

It’s great!! Quiet and powerful and was fairly easy to install. The sale price made it an unbeatable bargain.

Problems

Programming button would not work. cost hours of wasted time. Support expected me to tear apart the power head. Turns out due to poor design and quality, External Program button actuator does not line up with micro switch. Had to press micro switch on the circuit board (live power) to get it to program. What ticked me off is the company attitude, expecting me to be their service department. Also documentation is very poorly written. Lastly it is supposed to be 1 3/4 hp, no way. less powe...

Buyer beware: this is for sectional doors only.

Don’t pay attention to horsepower ratings on the newer garage door openers. This is a lightweight door opener irrespective of the 1 1/4 horsepower rating. It has a small DC motor and it’s nice and quiet but buyer beware: it is rated only for sectional garage doors that are well balanced. It didn’t say that anywhere on the box and you don’t find out until after you’ve opened everything up and start assembling it. I was shocked. Very weak lift with standard 7 ft door

It’s worked for 2 years but every single time I open the garage door I wonder if it will open again or not. And now the wall control has stopped functioning. It has power but click button stopped working.

Poor Equipment and Service

Purchase June 3, 2026. Installed June 4, 2026 using a local vendor. The control pad failed two months later. I’ve been emailing back and forth with Genie support for 7 days with no resolution even though I’ve provided detailed documentation. First time with a Genie over Chamberlain. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Poor quality

1. The electrical connecter #4 that you push down to push the wires in the hole failed. Took me forever to get the wire to stay in. 2. The bolt that connects the arm to the motor gear stripped out 3. The two screws on the cheap plastic that sits behind the motor gear stripped. 4. The worst part of this - you cannot program your automobile to this. Program buttons don't align with control board

Installation of opener was straight forward. Programming was impossible. After trying several times to follow the programming instructions, all I was able to do was set the down stop. The original belt was ruined during these efforts when the opener ran the turnbuckle into the end pulley, bending the gold screw and metal end that holds the belt. Genie replaced the belt after 4 calls and sending many pics. That took a day and lots of patience. But I still could not program it, it would not rever...
