Dead right out of box

Couldn’t get it to provide any readings. Put pins into variety of materials, and it did nothing. Funny it passed the calibration test. Will get another, it’s the right price.

Wet walls

Upstairs unit leaked into mine I used this gadget too show how wet walls and ceiling were and which areas had to be dried out

Good product

I purchased this meter to test the moisture in my home after being flooded by hurricane Harvey. Very good meter for the cost. Would recommend this meter to anyone in need of this type of instrument.

Moisture Detector

Excellent device. With all the flooding in Texas we definitely needed a unit like this. It not only senses the moisture level in various materials, but also allows you to hold the reading for a few seconds when you are trying to read in a hard to reach area where all you can get is your hand and the measuring unit.

Perfect for my need.

Haven't stained my new deck boards yet, so can't speak for the accuracy of this device, but love its simplicity of use. Quick, simple readings that make sense based on when the boards were installed.

I really like this meter.

I wanted to observe the moisture in some wood that I had cut up this summer. The meter is easy to use and convenient. I plan on using it a lot in the future.

Bowl Turner

I needed another meter for my lathe work and did not want to spend a lot of money. I turn rough bowls out of green wood and need to know when I can finish them. This meter seems to do the job. I've tested the accuracy and it is very close to expensive moisture meters. Well worth the money.

Not a great product

Item will self test on the top of the unit. It will read fingers and metal objects. I have yet to get it to read any wood products. I'm a finish carpenter, kind of important for it to read wood items.

Post-Hurricane Buy

We had roof damage and rainwater pour in from Hurricane Matthew. Walls looked okay, but the moisture meter told a different story. Walls were saturated. Used this to locate the walls and insulation that needed to be replaced. Meter also found that we had gotten water down our chimney. Meter worked easily out of the box and it came with easy to understand directions and charts for indicated moisture levels.

Good, basic, inexpensive meter

I bought this meter to test wall moisture in basement walls while shopping for a new home. While I can't vouch for the absolute accuracy of the meter's readings, I can say that this model is easy to use and gave what appeared to be accurate and consistent readings. This meter also has LED lights that register whether the material's moisture levels are low, medium, or high. only had it for 2 weeks I had a lot of walnut cut into boards so I purchased this to keep track of the moisture content of the boards. It seems to work good and easy to use

Moisture meter

This is the only moisture meter Lowes offers. It comes with an extra set of probes, but there is no place to store them so they will likely get lost. The hold function is a bit hard to manipulate when the meter is in a not so convenient spot. Good value for the money however.

For the price, Why would you buy anything else.

The Moisture Meter is easy to use. Seems to be very accurate. You can go out and spend a lot more money on a moisture meter that provides the same result but why would you. For the price I paid for this one, I can buy 3 for the price I would pay for the other brands. Love it!

A good purchase

I bought this to read moisture levels in woods like pine, poplar, and maple. It works well: easy to use and seems to be very accurate. You should make it a point to read the operating instructions.

Easy to use

Digital readout is clear; the only complaint is the cover over the probes is hard to get off. Considering how sharp the probes are, that could be a good thing. Too new to give much more information, time will tell.
