Keeps Breaking - Not even used for an emergency yet!

First the choke and now the starter. Thank God It has not been needed for an emergency.

Great-Great-Great

After a year of research I found the Generac 10,000watt unit would do everything. I've backed up my house, my shop, my welder, freezers, and had power to spare. Why spend more on another brand, and get less functionality? I'd buy it again.

Excellent portable generator for medium to large house

I purchased the generator to be an emergency backup generator for a 3000 sq ft house with 1.5 hp well pump, electric water heater, 3 ton ac, gas furnace, 2 refrigerators, and other misc loads. I have only run it for testing but find that using the 50 amp plug wired through a disconnect allows me to run pretty much what I want. Difficultly accessing air filter, gas line, and winter/summer lever

I want to be clear that I probably am my own worst enemy for the trouble I am having trying to start this unit for the first time. It was delivered to my this past July and I stored it in my climate-controlled garage for 6 months before I decided to put fuel/oil in it and fire it up. As you can probably guess, the battery was completely dead. I used the charging adapter for 48 hours but the battery was still dead. I had to get a replacement battery. Great features and power at an affordable price

A very reliable generator that is easy to operate and maintain. It will easily run an entire house, unless you heat with electric baseboard heaters. Even then it will operate some of them and the rest of the house too!

Easy to use and totally reliable emergency generator. A purchase well worth making. The feeling of security with this product is huge.

More than I expected

I picked it up and took it home. I put on the wheels, hooked up the battery, and filled it with oil, then a friend and I lifted it out of my truck. I let the battery charge a couple hours, put in gas, and then it started right up. It comes with extra spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, oil, and the battery tender, which I did not expect to come with it. Bonus! Easy set up. Ample power with easy set-up, just a little noisy.

After going through Sandy, i decided it was time for a home back generator. While I have not yet had to use the generator for the purpose intended. The generator appears to provide more then enough power, it was easy to set-up and i had the unit up and running in no time at all. Getting an additional maintenance kit was a plus, it is just a little noisier then i expected.

This portable unit is as good or better than I had expected based on the strong reviews I read doing research. It arrived sooner than expected and the units packaging during shipment and handling performed well. Assembly instructions were clear and accurate. The operating manual is clear and concise. Good product

The assembly of the generator was pretty straight forward and easy with the exception of putting the oil in the engine. They need to go back to the drawing board on this one. They need to either extend the filling tube and/or move it to the other side. It is at such a flat angle you have to SLOWLY pour in oil or it will back up and run out between the funnel and fill tube. They also need to put in more holes on the dipstick since trying to see new oil on a the dipstick is almost impossible excep...

Fine unit

Good weight distribution even with a full tank of gas. Very easy to move around. One obvious flaw, the winter/summer control cannot be seen as it's under the gas tank. I spent 10 minutes looking for it, I found it by touch. More than enough power .

Better than expected

2 years ago were I live we had a major power failure with in a day the majority of generators where gone in a 45 mile area around me! Exactly what I was looking for!!

We live near the end of a dead end road in the country so I know we're a low priority in a power outage. Very nice generator

This is my first generator that I have owned. I had to rely on borrowing one from somebody else when I would need one. I did quite a bit of research and word of mouth before this purchase. The set up was fairly simple, adding the oil could be a real pain if you do not have the proper funnel. Luckily I did. Hooking up the battery is also a bit tricky. I brought this generator for home back up. It lives up to everything they say about it. It powers everything in the house that I need it to.

Generator would not start

Got everything hooked up by electrician and went to test the manual transfer switch and the generator would not start. For almost 30 minutes we tried everything to get it to fire. Eventually we thought that fuel was not flowing to the engine as the fuel filter looked dry. We took off the gas line hose at the filter and gas start to run out.
