Extremely Reliable

After Hurricane Irma caught me off guard in 2017, I swore it would never happen again. I bought the 10000E. I set it up per instructions. Fired it up. Put it up in November last year. Haven't touched it until last Wednesday the evening that Hurricane Michael hit SW GA. Our power went out at 5 pm on the 10th. I turned it on. Powered my well, hot water heater and all my house. Not as good as my old Generac

My old Generac lasted for almost 2 decades and was easy to service. I just received this one today, put the wheels on, added oil, etc. First problem, there was no nut/bolt to connect the negative wires to the battery terminal. Either it wasn't included or it came off in transport--my guess is it wasn't included. I used a temporary solution to connect it and crank it. Heavy!

The XG10000E is very well built and the quality can be felt in how heavy the machine is. The generator has good tires but is difficult to roll over grassy areas. I was disappointed to learn that the hand grips on the handles are NOT glued on! This could be dangerous if someone is pulling backwards when the grips come off. The controls are well laid out. The manual does NOT tell the owner how much engine oil that the crankcase holds...only to fill the crankcase to the full area on the dipstick. W...

Really let down

I purchased this very expensive generator based on the well known brand name and the fact that it is American made. I used the generator 1 time...... yes 1 time. It started and I then stored it based on all the manufactures directives. I took it out and charged the battery and it wouldn’t start. It wouldn’t even turn over. Worst genset I ever had

I have XG1000E unit bought in 2012. Here is my experience with this unit - overpriced low grade components, junk. 1. It came with loose bolt inside alternator. If I wouldn't spot it and removed it with pincet it would have damaged the alternator or caused personal injury. 2. The carburetor is of very low quality, namely the the magnetic pin which opens the fuel line was rusted and not moving upon start. 3. This portable is exactly what I needed for Home backup

I live out in a forest, with several fairly short power outages each winter, and sometimes in the summer. I needed an easy to operate portable generator around 10kw for powering up my home, including freezers and our well pump at 220 volts. This unit is compact, reliable, with a number of helpful features that make it easy for me and my family to operate. I was impressed with the reviews for this Generac generator and am happy with the purchase. Time will tell if it lasts the test of time.

Excellent piece of equipment

After being let down by our Coleman during Hurricane Irma, we decided to go with Generac. We are beyond satisfied with this generator. Very solidly built and easy to use.

Just what I needed

Just received my new generator about two weeks ago. perfect timing, I just completed wiring of my transfer switch. I tested last Saturday the 7th. wow I was able to power my 5 ton A/C unit, hot water heater all my lights, fans, computer, and TV. with just over 5000 watts, with plenty of power to spare. Awesome so far, but...

Purchased from Lowes online and picked up about 2 weeks ago (March 2018). Was excited about getting our generator and being prepared for hurricane season (we live in Florida). Unit comes on a small pallet with the box basically just slid down over it. Found this a little weird but allowed me to inspect it before I took possession and all seemed well. Just received my generator, this is a great generator, had a little bit of trouble starting it for the first time, but might have been fault, may have over choked it. Once started it was great, was able to run over 90 percent of my home. Including my 5 ton A/C, TV, internet, all my lights, ceiling fans, refrigerator. All under 5KW. NEVER buy Generac

For years, I swore i would not buy another Generac, and each time a Generac failed, I was talked into a bigger, 'BETTER', more expensive model. Regardless, its not the generator - almost every generator generates power out of the box - its WHEN your Generac fails the real adventure starts. 1) Generac has NO warranty support - they ask you what happened when it failed, and then they pick out one tidbit out of the conversation that is the basis for them voiding the warranty - happened THREE time...

Problem from the start/no support from the company

Ordered from Lowes on Nov 3rd. Arrived 3 weeks later. Set up was fairly simple with the exception of adding the oil. You can see where the dipstick is in the main picture. That's where the oil is added. It is very awkward to add because it sits too close to the rear of the panel. Overall quality is good. Powerful engine solid built. I looked at a lot of different brands. This was the best.

This product has great features.

Although I thought this product was a bit pricey, I bought it for the reliability. It has more power than any other to run my home when the electricity goes out. My home is all electric so having a generator is by far a great investment. I would highly recommend this product. It's easy enough to start that my wife can do it - electric start (battery powered).

Very good generator

I purchased this generator to be used as a back up unit for my home. I was looking to purchase a whole house unit but decided on the XG10000 because is portable. I can take it to where it is needed (family members homes) if my power is on. When not in use I keep it under my work bench in the garage. I do need help getting it into my truck she is a bit heavy. This is the best investment I have ever made! I purchased it as a special order from LOWE'S and the salesperson was extremely helpful and knowelegable.
