Generac GP has evrthing it takes to weather out the storms

I recently purchased the Generac GP at the recommendation of a qualified electrician who is a good friend and has been custom installing generators for year's and has always found Generac to be top of the line.

My electrician installed a transfer switch for my house main electrical box and recommended the 6.5 KW General (8K Starting) for backup. The 30 amp connection was purchased separately.

Perfect operation

I love this generator. It starts in one pull and every time. I haven't had to put it to the test in an outage yet, but I know it will fire right up and work as it should.

Hurricane Dorian

Purchased this unit just prior to hurricane hitting Nova Scotia. We lost power for three and a half days. This unit kept all the essentials running and kept us safe and dry. Didn't run it over night, but pretty much all of the waking hours and only had to refill the fuel tank once. No super heavy loads but it handled the refrigerator with no problems. Used it for coffee, microwave, induction cooktop, TV and internet. Delighted with the unit.

I use my GP6500 for home backup and I have an electric jackhammer which I use a lot. lots of sandstone on my property and they don't stand a chance

Starts right up!

Just purchased this fall for the New England winters. We haven't had to use it YET, but kind of looking forward to it. Right out of the box, it started right up and continues to start the first pull while waiting to use. I did test it on the whole house and all important appliances ran without a hitch! This particular generator is quieter than I thought it would be

Best Gift EVER!!!!

These days, living in CA isn't what it used to be. With 4 two day plus power outages between 10/9 and 10/30, we needed a generator. We purchased a GP6500, model G0076830. What a gift during these days. It can keep my husbands medical equipment and our refrigerator and freezer charged, with as little as 2 hours a day!!! Thank you Generac and Calaveras Lumber for making these days easier.

Quality Product

This is the second Generac Generator I've purchased. Living in Central Canada I know that I will be faced with a power outage at some point. These generators will keep my heat, lights and sump pump running. It's worth the peace of mind.

Really well built

I bought this during the Bay Area power shut off and it’s made my life a lot easier. It was easy to set up and it starts with ease. It’s been running a bunch of things in my house with no problem. It ran about 10 hours on a tank of gas. My only criticism is that I wish it had a better muffler or some type of insulation as it’s nosier than I thought it would be.

Won’t even run a freezer or frig

Just bought this product from Lowe’s today 10/27/2019 after pg&e shut off our power. Got it all hooked up and plugged in a small freezer and a frig. After ten minutes the gfi keeps tripping. Tried all 120v 20amp outlets and even the 240v and 30 amp the power keeps shutting off and the generator keeps running. I will be returning this product, sad to say. It looks like a great generator but failed me.

I bought this generator to survive PG&E’s power grid shut down due to recent high fire dangers in NorCal. I have two large stocked stand up freezers and a refrigerator that needed power. After putting it together by flashlight it started right up and ran flawlessly for three days in several hour increments just to keep food frozen/cold. This generator is NOT 120/240 volt

I am satisfied with this generator however if I had researched I would have bought a different unit. (The GP3300 is 120/240 volt and can be installed via a transfer panel). Only because after I bought it did I found out it is 120 volt only. My plan was to plug it into the dryer outlet and power up the circuit breakers in the main panel I only needed. The.instructions for assembly were easy to follow. The instructions were straight forward with all parts included. The generator started on the second pull and worked flawlessly. I feel confident the generator will help keep my family comfortable during an extended power outrage. Having the generator and being able to connect it to the house is very convenient.

Excellent Purchase

Living in Florida and going thru many hurricanes this year we decided to buy a generator. did not have to use so far but just testing the unit, from the easy set up to the easy start we are now prepared for many seasons to come.

Great Features--Concerned About COsense Switch

Even though I have not used the generator for a prolonged period yet, I am impressed with the many features and top quality of this product. It has every feature I was looking for in a generator at a reasonable cost. It is very heavy, but that is to be expected with a generator of this size.
