Perfect size for my house

Bought as a backup in case of hurricane outage. Have not used yet but like co sense feature.

just great equipment

I now have 2 of the 6500 series.one I use for contractors on job sites, the other is for my personal emergency backup power. dependability when I need it most!

Great Generator

I bought this Generator for Emergency back up. Ran for just about 10 min. every thing works. Look well built. Have not ran a big load on the generator I think it will handle it

Runs great and does the job but co sensor is a problem for me

The previous Generac generator was run in a plastic garden box that had two doors and a roof that you could raise for ventilation. I ran that generator for 15 years before it gave up the ghost. With the new generator with the co sensor it will not allow me to run it in that box. I had to run it outside in a rain storm. Anybody have an idea what I can use to protect the generator in bad weather that won't blow away?

Best " bang for the buck"

After researching and using other products, such as Honda. I could not help but know that my GP6500 is the best bang for the buck! I know the dependability of generac having owned one in the past ( used it as an enticement on sale of my previous home). This particular model will also give a surge of power when increase of load is needed . With proper maintenance there is no reason it should not last a very long time. Great product

My ancient but functional Coleman died 2 days into Florence last fall. I lucked out finding my 6500. I knew nothing of the brand, and paid what I thought was too much. When I hooked it up, however... BOOM, great product and a lit house and fans. Thanks!

Sharp unit

I searched numerous sites and manufactures and the generac was the best bang for the money. Minimal assembly. Instructions for the handle assembly need improvement.

The product has great features - easy to move around easy to fueland maintain

We have found that Generac generators and products are well worth the money. They are easy to work on and run great. I would recommend them to anyone.

Needed for immediate concerns that we may need it

Having no backup plan for heat and concerns we may lose electricity with forecasted temperatures at -33°. I wanted piece of mind knowing it would sufficiently power our furnace and any other things we need. Started right up on first pull, battery wasn't charged straight out of box when I did initial start, but works now that it has been charged. Great product.

Lifesaver

Expecting high winds and our power goes out all the time,great product

Ran for 4 days straight

This seems to be a good generator is provided backup power for me for 4 days straight. The only thing I wish the generator had was a percentage used of power as other generators offer that feature. The only feature offered on this is the hour meter which is very good for maintenance

Hurricane Saver

I live in eastern NC. I have never used a generator in the past and decided to purchase one with a powerful storm heading our way. It was so easy to use and kept us cool and with lights and warm and cold food the entire hurricane.

I have not used product yet. I bought it as a replacement for a 3500 wen , which did a good job. After comparing it with other products of the same size and price range I decided on the Generac . The good reviews and recommendations are another reason for my purchase.

Works great but to much noise

Great generator, does everything I need, a little loud.

I purchased this during a snowstorm that knocked out our power for a couple of days. We have a newborn and therefore a lot of breastmilk in our freezer that we needed to keep frozen. This was EXTREMELY easy to start and run and then hook up not just the freezer, but also our fridge. It ran for the stated 11+ hours with an upright fridge and freezer and saved everything we needed. Great value

I added the provided oil and some gasoline. The generator started on the 2nd pull. I was a little worried about noise but this Generac runs very quietly and will not be a noise problem. I'm very glad to have back-up power the next time we lose power.

excelent portable generator.

Purchased this generator after Hurricane Michael. I used it to run refrigeration, medical equipment and my well. It had absolutely no problems carrying the load. It is a quiet generator and ran for about 14 hours on a tank of gas. I highly recommend this generator.

it worked great

Purchased the unit after a ice storm. Easy to set up, started on first pull. Power was off 2 days but we were able to keep the fridge and lights on. will purchase transfer switch and install ASAP

Junk 6500

I use this generator for 2 months every yr on weekends at deer lease and run fuel dry when I leave till following weekend Iv used the 6500 for 1st year no problem except oil consumption 2 nd yr had to have carb rebuild and and 3rd yr now needs a valve job junk I'm not putting any more money in it. also friend (same deer lease )has a generac 5000 3 yrs old has had to replace push rods

Haven't used the generator yet, but I have noticed a flaw with the product: the owner/operator manual. It sucks the illustrations are impossible to

glean any useful information from and the instructions are ambiguous at best.
