Solid Construction

This piece fit my need exactly, but I was especially pleased with how solidly made it is. Nothing cheap about the construction, and in door security, that's good!

Really good fix

I have this older front door, solid door but the strike plates looked very old, screws all messed up. The entire area of the strike plate looked old but structurally still sound. I wanted something to cover that area with at the same time provide solid intrusion resistant surface. This was a perfect replacement. I removed the old strike plates, 2 of them. Aligned this new plate, making sure the door can close. Then screw in the short 3 screws first. Keep the remaining 6 screws that are 3inches...

Sturdy design but with not perfect.

Sturdy design. The provided screws only have 6 that are 6 inches while 3 of them are shorter. I had to toss the short screws away and used longer screws to match my the others. The biggest flaw is that the latch is too wide that cause some play with the door when closed. I had to chisel and insert the old doorknob and dead bolt short latches underneath the plate to stop the play.

Good but could be a lot better.

The plate is all one piece, which is good but it has some issues. The instructions say it may be placed over an existing strike plate if there is room. While I had room, I had issues with the small lips on the plate that enter the holes for the deadbolt (if there were no lips it would easily fit over an existing strike plate). As the existing strike plates were centered these lips did not allow the door to close and lock. This caused me to chisel out a layer of wood so that I could fit the p...

Used it to replace dual door strikes. Much stronger than original.

Sturdy and dependable

Fantastic product! Super easy installation and immediate results. Leaves you feeling much more secure and actually sealed the door against the weather stripping better than standard door plates.

Clean up old door jam

Used to clean up old door jam that has housed multiple lock sets (holes) over the years. I used longer and heavier screws than what was supplied. Lineup can be a bit tricky so take your time before sinking screws. If the door is loose adjust by bending the tabs out with a screwdriver small amounts at a time till your satisfied with the fit. I gave it 4 stars because of the screws and would buy it again.

Perfect Solution

With the abundance of rain this Spring and early Summer, the entry door was getting harder to lock. This provided a simple solution by widening the openings for the lock and dead bolt. It provided the right spacing at a reasonable price.

Had to install new door into an old frame. Holes didn't match in frame were new door latches hit. Had to drill new holes and use this for new holes and to cover up old holes. Has long screws with it so no need to buy long screws if you want the screws to go into the wall stud. Worked very well and is nice and thick. Solved all the problems and still looks good.

Great strike plate

Great heavy duty strike plate with long security screws. Easy to install it took about 15 minutes and most of that time was cutting out the openings for the deadbolt and latch.

Worked great but

This works great and looks good too, we bought the house last year and the door frame was just horrible, With holes and abuse. This made it so simple to install our new Nest door looking System

Great quality product, good build and does the job. Just wish they offered a version without the lip
