The product and components...over all rating is 0
Would Not RecommendThis product is made in China shame on us...... the screw heads break off even with a pilot holes not worth packing out of the store or for that matter picking up to look at. When will we learn stores carry this crap and if you carry the crap it puts the bad name on Lowes!

added security
Would RecommendUse of numerous, LONG screws into the door frame greatly improves the strength of the latches. Adding steel plate 4"x 24" over the double door frame behind where the screws penetrate, in addition, is even better.

Just what I needed!
Would RecommendI was having trouble with the 2 strike plates on an external door and was dreading the thought of replacing the door facing because the screw holes were already in place and I couldn't make the needed adjustments. Then I found the Gatehouse Steel Entry Door Strike Plate and my problems were solved. The holes for the bolts were already in the right position and the screw holes were in different positions, so I could put the plate where it needed to be and use new screw holes. Plus, new and str...

Rugged, Secure Plate
Would RecommendRenovating an older home and the back door was not very secure. I was concerned someone could easily kick the door open. This plate is rugged. Thick metal, well formed. Included good fasteners. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about it. I had to do some woodwork to make room for it; check your door frame to the dimensions provided before you buy. I didn't mind that, though, because I wanted all 9 screws to be solidly into wood.

Best purchase ever
Would RecommendGreat product. Stores don't carry it. Strike plate has extra large holes for both deadbolt and latch. One solid piece makes it harder to kick in. Installed At all my houses.

Seems to be sturdy and hard. Came with long screws to secure to door frame. Only con was I had to spend time trimming out a space for it to fit in the jam. But it should do it's intended job.

Strong & Useful Steel Entry Door Strike Plate
Would RecommendAlthough I wanted a much wider lip to cover additional thick wood added for more security, this was a quick substitute until I could special order what I really wanted. Our home was burglarized and the door was kicked in very easily because of the minimal amount of wood behind the plate for the closing tang and dead bolt. For greater security, I installed a steel security door on the outside of the frame that can not be kicked in.

Double Strike Plate (Satin Nickel)
Would RecommendOur Police department recommends this style strike plates, especially for back doors. It is much harder for someone to break in if you use these. It was a $7 purchase at Lowes, so worth every penny and easy to install.

Fits coordinating door guard well.
Would RecommendWe purchased the Gatehouse Door Guard (5-1/2 in., 2-3/8 in. x 1-3/4 in., Stainless Steel) to cover out-of-date and unnecessary holes in our door. This strike plate fit well with the door guard and made our door closure system complete.

Useful strike plate for renovating
Would RecommendI replaced an old door with non-standard deadbolt and knob spacing. You couldn't put the individual plates back in since the existing bored holes for the latch and the bolt were where the screws for the new plates would be. The longer double strike plate with more screw options was the solution. But it has a problem in that the holes are the same setback to make it useful for either direction. In a properly installed deadbolt/knob combination this is not the case since the anti-pick lever on th...
