Tricky to apply but nice to have

It is kind of miserable to install unless you have the 2nd recommended person. A small mistake and it can get messed up. BUT, if you are patient and careful, the finished product gives you both ambient light and privacy

Do it at night

Does not stick when sun is shining on it

Peeled not long after applying

Followed step by step directions and not even 10 minutes after applying, it started peeling and we could not get it to stay on.

False advertising

I bought this to block out my basement lighting . After installing there was no changes noted. The lights are still seen outside

Tape the edges because it wants to be curled up.

followed the directions, watched the video, read online forums.... it curls. will not stay flat. wasted money on film and application kit. used lots of water, did not skimp. what a waste of time and effort.

No, I don't have the needed tools

I bought this product from a GILA product end cap and foolishly thought what I bought was all I needed. Like, a sticky film roll would contain the sticky part. I get it home and the instructions say "Tools you'll need: GILA Window Film Application Solution", like its some other tool I just happen to have around, like a screwdriver or a knife. Why is this separate? If I need something specific, that only this product needs, why is not part of the product I purchase?

Waste of time and money

Don't waste your time and money on this product , or the application tools. It won't stick on the edge, it curls back on itself once you finally get the film off, the cutter in the application kit does NOT cut. I had to tape the edges down until I can buy something more suitable for that small window. Worst product I have ever purchased at Lowes and I wish I could return what is left of the roll and the application kit.

Adhesive is very poor. Didn’t even stick for 1 night. Tried to redo it but it never adhered no matter what we did.

The other brand is infinitely better

Does it eventually work? Yes. But is it completely annoying to apply and is the other known brand in this market far more durable and easier to apply? Also yes.

Nice design

Needed to add for privacy. Was able to install with minimal trouble.

Ok

Easy to apply with the recommended adhesive. There was enough to do 2.5 windows (upper and lower panes). I did not find it to be as transparent as the pictures showed which was disappointing.
