Expect problems with mesh wifi networking

Would Not Recommend

Out of this box this device came with old firmware that was not compatible with my mesh WIFI network. I probably wasted 3 hours fighting this problem. The only solution was to set up another temporary WIFI network with an older router just so that I could update the firmware on it. Once I finally got the firmware updated it did work with my linksys velop mesh wifi network.

Works good but no instructions

Would Recommend

I liked that once I plugged it in, it was ready to connect and it connected within the 45 seconds that was stated in the app. What i didn't like was that it would have been nice to have step by step instructions that told me i had to download the Cync app then how to link it to Alexa instead of fumbling and guessing my way through it with no directions in the box.

they work when they want to work

This was my first time getting a google smart device and they work when you first install them, then will go a day without working, work for a few days, then just stop. I’ve updated everything so I’m thinking they just need to work on their technology first. Im returning the outlets.

Difficult Set Up

Would Not Recommend

I ve added several brands to Alexa with minimum effort... I'm returning these outlets because after the initial set up Alexa didn't recognize the outlets.... Several attempts and reviews on line... I'm not impressed or happy with the others. If you have Google it may be a better experience

GE Smart Plug is not so smart.

One of the most basic functions of a smart plug is to schedule on and off times. Believe it or not, there is no straight forward way to do this with the GE app. This one is really disappointing. I have two other smart plugs that make scheduling easy. This product is made for you if you are a masochist.
