Would Not RecommendIt says six months but only lasts 2-3 months, according to our refrigerator. We really don't drink that much water or use very much ice from the fridge.

Would RecommendI have been using this filter ever since we bought the refrigerator. I believe it makes the water taste better, thus it must be eliminating a lot of minerals/chemicals. You cannot be sure of your water supply these days, so I am very pleased to be able to use this.
