Flimsier make as compared to earlier units

Although the model # was the same as the set that I replaced, the new microwave feels lighter and flimsier. They have made changes to the product design (including smaller filters) likely to reduce manufacturing cost. The earlier microwave lasted a little over 5 years. Let’s see how long this one lasts.

Good micro

No complaints after using about 2 months, with all functions working well. I gave it 4 stars only because the door feels cheesy compared to the Maytag we had previously. Hopefully it lasts as long as that one did.

I like it. But the installation direction were hard to understand

Microwave lacks quality

I have no expectations of this microwave lasting 10 years. The keypad creaks when buttons are pressed and the handle is clicking and slightly separating from the door when being pulled open. Poor quality during the years my entire kitchen set was built.

Works great

Fan works great , Just a little loud, even on low. Easy to use. Looks good. Same size as my last one and can fit a lot in it. Buttons are great and easy to figure out. Quick and professional install by Costo contractor.

Fantastic microwave

This was purchased as a replacement microwave for over our range and it is perfect. It is a good size and very easy to use. We bought this because all our other appliances match but GE is a wonderful brand that we trust.

Same model only lasted 5 years before replacement.

Just installed this microwave to replace the exact same model that only lasted 5 years…Prior to the one 5 years ago, the original microwave with my new house lasted 20 years like I would expect. I had to buy this model due to dimensions of the space to install…otherwise I would have steered clear of GE!

Stopped heating after 3 months

Stopped heating after 3 months! Fortunately it was under warranty so repair was free.

Not built very well. The number panel is bubbling. Seems like it wasn’t glued down to the device properly. Also a very loud microwave. So disappointing!!

Died in a year

Barely used the thing for a year before it just stopped working. Still powers up but won’t do anything once buttons are pushed. The repairman said he’s still this recently with fuses blowing. In a year??? That’s not acceptable unless you extend the warranty period

Bad design

Don’t buy. The carbon filter is above the microwave making it a difficult over the range microwave as the top is under the cabinet? So how do you gain access? He needs to stick out further than your average microwave which mean your head can bump it while cooking. Very poor design.

Logical controls, powerful, large capacity

This unit replaced a higher end GE unit and I couldn’t be more pleased. Powerful, large capacity, easy logical control buttons. Exactly what I wanted!

long lasting model

Product and installation were very good. We had the same model that lasted almost ten years, hence why we bought it again. One good improvement was better contrast on control panel lettering.

Fingers Crossed!

This microwave is to replace a GE microwave that I purchased 2-1/2 years ago where the magnetron failed. The new microwave was purchased so that its finish would still match the other GE kitchen appliances I have. I hope that this new microwave either lasts for at least 5 years or fails within 12 months so I can have it replaced under warranty. As far as the new microwave goes, it works as advertised an I am pleased with its function and performance.

Poor quality, and loud

Came with the door misaligned, and the top of the hinge side jamming up against the frame when opening the door. This would make it pop and grind as you open. To boot, operation is loud. Shockingly loud. Our previous was nearly the same model, just 12-years older, and was pretty darn quiet. Highly dissatisfied with the quality. Luckily, the Retailer setup an immediate return.

I love my GE microwave!

I love my microwave but one exception; My power button isn't working, just keeps saying "not available at this time". I also like being able to stop the turntable for oversize kitchenware!

Older model was better

I previously owned the older model of this product and was very happy with it. When it stopped working I replaced it with the same model. The newer version is of poorer quality, the door is plastic and flimsy. The motor is louder and the rack for the glass tray inside is made of thinner materials and the glass frequently slips out of place and has to be adjusted. The oven functions as the previous model, which worked well.
