Easy Installation

This GFC525N was a perfect fit for replacing my old HFC525F disposal. The only problem I had was getting the old disposal unlatched from the sink mount. Installation was very simple.

long life

I installed a GFC525N MANY years ago. The disposall worked flawlessly until one of the rotating arms came off. bought new one and installed in a few minutes. Forgot how new ones were so QUIET. gotta love it!!!

Works great

This runs so quite you hardly realize it’s running. My old one was 1/4hp and this is 1/2 hp, didn’t think it would make that much difference, boy was I wrong.

Quiet

When moving to our new home a disposal wasnt even considered a necessity but after noticing how quiet and efficient it is, i now feel its one kitchen appliance i couldnt do without! A great way to stay green and recycle foodscraps to condense less trash. I love my GE disposal!

Do Not Buy

3 months after 3 year warranty the blades broke off. This is the first time I have had to replace a disposal other than when I replace a sink. Would not buy again

Good overall, quiet, easy install, but short life

This is an overall good disposal. Very easy to install, quiet and never clogged. My understanding was disposals last 8+ years on average. However, a little after two years it started leaking from the bottom (through the nut that holds the bottom cover in place). It seems like an internal gasket or seal failed. This disposal was not used heavily, so I was very disappointed that it failed so soon. But I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and replaced it with the same disposal to avoid disturbing...

Garbage disposal

I am very hands on, this was not an easy install. Gasket and quick disconnect installation directions need better instruction. Also, Had to rearrange all plumbing. Replaced older ge disposer. Thought it was going to be a direct replacement-no. Otherwise. Unit is light and quiet. Doesn’t take up alot of space under sink which is a plus . Last one lasted 20 years. Hope this one lasts as well.

Works great

I had the same type GE disposal previously, but after over 10 years, it needed replacing. That's why I chose the same one again. Always did the job.

Simple installation , works ok so far

It was a breeze to swap the old one that lasted for 10 years and put this one in. The gasket that bridges the sink flange and the disposal itself is a little tricky to attach , apart from that its straightforward

We replaced our last GE Disposall with the same model. The previous disposal lasted about 7 years before one of the blades eventually broke off (not really repairable), yet the motor was still running strong.

Replaced GFC520V

Orig. GFC520V still works, but the grinding tabs both came out of their pressed fit on top of unit. Unit lasted 4 years. But otherwise happy with this product, that’s why I replaced with same unit.

Filter replacement

Package comes with complete set of components including full sink drain connection. Easy to follow instructions included. Switched my old one in 30 minutes

Replace 1/3 HP w/ 1/2 HP

Ok, it’s just installed replacing a 1/3 HP GE GFC325V which lasted 8+ years. So, I don’t know how this one will perform yet hope it last as long or longer than original. For my installation, I was able to use flange assembly / easy mount system from original unit as exact exchange.
