Cuts with ease

Improved Design

This pole pruner is much better than my old one for these reasons: 1. Three sections adjust to the needed height up to 16’. 2. The pulley distance is about 10” rather than the length of the pole. 3. The oval shape is strong than a circular shape. 4. Easier to store. As others noted, it cuts 1-1/2” diameter best. It got stuck on larger limbs. Sometimes it worked well to pull a branch down and cut with a regular pruner or saw.

Works!

This is a good pruner that has good range for trimming higher up branches. Simply line up a branch and pull the cord down or use the saw to cut thicker branches. There is a bit of a learning curve if you haven't used a pruner like this before, but a little patience and you will be happy with the results. The pole is adjustable and easy to adjust. Overall, a good buy.

Heavy and Frayed Rope

Used it for the first time this past Saturday. I found it very heavy but worst was the rope got frayed. Its not going to last.

Pole Pruner Worked Well

I read a number of mixed reviews about this 16ft pruner, but I am glad I bought it anyway. I have an older Fiskar 12ft pruner and this new 16ft pruner solved two problems I had with the old one. It is an oval shape (versus round) which makes it more rigid when fully extended. And the hook on the end of the saw tip keeps the blade from slipping off the branch during sawing which used to happen all the time especially at an extended length. The saw blade cuts very well! Arrived Damaged

Met FedEx delivery driver at the door and all he could say was "I'm sorry its like this". This item is not carried by my local Lowes so I ordered it from them online. Expected that it would come boxed (as did a patio table umbrella ordered from a different store). Nope - no packaging. Came damaged. How could they think to ship like this? Haven't used it yet. Maybe it will be okay. But, that's not the point. For $100, I would have expected better from Lowes. So disappointed.

I have been happy with this trimmer so far. I bought it primarily for the lopper, but have also used the saw. The saw blade seems quite effective in cutting limbs, and is easy to detach with a wing nut so the blade doesn’t interfere with branches when lopping. Easy to extend and close the handle length. I like that the blade has a hook on the end to hang on a branch while repositioning, and also to complete slicing through palm fronds. I like that the pole is oval so that the upper shaft doesn't twist while I'm trying to cut. The locking mechanism is much better than my last pole pruner. Having two separate extensions makes it much easier to work with and still get the maximum reach.

Irreparable after 3 seasons of minimal use

This device has given up the ghost after three years of using it to cut dead palm fronds from three 15 to 25 foot palm trees in my backyard. I probably left this outside for one week during that time period, otherwise it was stored indoors in air conditioned space. The chain link closest to the pruning blade came off, and somehow the strap that pulls the wheel that pulls the blade loosened so that the pruning blade cannot be pulled enough to sever anything. Lightweight easy to handle

Worth it!

The reach is excellent and the blade very sharp. It’s a bit wobbly but that’s the trade off for reach and it takes a bit to get used to cord management when not using the saw.
