Would RecommendOne thing to remember is that these detectors do not last forever, 10 years is the recommended duration. My house is over 45 years old and the wiring still works with the new models. I changed the base and plug the unit back in and installed it. Rather easy since I did not have to change the wiring.

Would RecommendEasy to install using one of the adapters that was included in the package. Good to have hardwired system back in place. This replaced a unit that had reached its 10 year life and was beeping. Not happy that the new unit does not have an expiration date clearly printed on it. Reduced the rating for this reason.

Would RecommendThis is great. It exceeded all my expectations. The voice and warning sound are very loud. I connected this with First Alert smoke detectors and they control each other perfectly. This unit allows you to select what room it is in. While testing it, I had the windows open and the neighbors came over to see if I needed help (it is that loud.) Easy install, but don’t use the adapters.
Would RecommendSuper easy to install the mounting bracket lots of options for existing screws in the box. Battery compartment is a little tricky when installed to unload but better than having to take it down to get to the back. The adapters for other types of connections are garbage, first one bent but eventually got a solid connection, second one was just not with the time and required all of them to keep it simple.
