Would RecommendWiring of the connector was easy; directions which came with the product were accurate; grateful there is a product like this that does away with the low battery chirps that usually occurred in our house around 2AM - not the time to be messing with getting out a ladder and swapping out a battery. :-(

So Far, So Good
Would RecommendThe new smoke detectors look much nicer than the old ones. They are replacing detectors that are roughly 20+ years old. I’m looking forward to the 10 year batteries in these new ones. I had them professionally installed by an electrician. He only took a few minutes to put them up. He tested them before he left and we haven’t heard a chirp since then. All is well.

Would Not RecommendI bought one of these, followed directions and pulled yellow tab. Unit is dead and because the battery is permanent, nothing to do but return. Really trust inspiring with your life and loved ones. I would NOT recommend this one to anyone.

Difficult to install
Would Not RecommendVery difficult to install, the wiring harness is hard to reconnect to the new unit. Was replacing current unit with new 10 year sealed and difficult to do on a ladder.

We apparently got a DEFECTIVE one .... HORRIBLE!
IT DID NOT STOPPING BEEPING. Called 800 #. They could not instruct us on how to stop it. It beeped for over a week! Had to bury it in the garage under blankets until it stopped.

Would RecommendI would give 5 stars if all the units worked. I purchased the 6 pack of this item as you can see and only 4 activated. I tried them on several different mounting brackets, but they do not work. I guess I will be going back to Lowes again. Overall easy to install the mounting brackets have multiple places for screws so they can mount to almost any electrical box. I was replacing wired ones with these 10 battery ones and fitting the old location was critical.
