This was a replacement for a prior installed wired smoke detector. The prior one just about 15 months old kept beeping even with two changes of batteries so we replaced it.

The smoke detectors in my home were >10yrs old, so it was time. They are hard wired with battery back up. Purchased these as a replacement, even though they were a different manufacturer from the old ones. Very easy to change the wiring to fit the new device, mounting was also extremely easy. Replaced Original Smoke Alarms

We replaced original smoke alarms. I’m not real happy with them. They start beeping randomly. We’ve checked batteries but still doing. Now we find the beeps are codes to be replaced. They are brand new. How can that be? Not pleased with this product.

False alarm

About a year in all the ones we replace randomly go off. Professionally installed.

These hardwired smoke detectors are fabulous! If there is smoke in any room the alarm set off on all of the alarms perfect for people who sleep with the bedroom door closed or large homes where you might not hear the alarm in another room or different floor of the house

Easy to install

So during this purchase, I learned much more than I figured possible regarding smoke alarms and the differences between photo and ion sensor devices. This product exceeded my expectations with quality and function. First Alert has both Photo and ion cell detectors. I recommend reading a little on the differences between the sensors to determine which one fits your needs best. You can’t go wrong with First Alert. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Fire alarm

After we installed these, they went off because I was vacuuming. It was a little hard to find out which one it was that was making the sound. Haven't had any issues since.

Looking to replace old units. These provided duel alarms for quick flame & smoldering type fires. Easy to install.
