Huge improvement over the HSM Shredder shredstar x10

This Fellowes shredder appears to have a stronger cutter motor than the HSM shredder it replaced. This shredder has all the bells and whistles that one could ask for in a desk side shredder. It also has a convenient waste bin that is easy to pull out so that it can be emptied without having to worry about getting paper shredding everywhere. Thanks Fellowes for making such a reliable and convenient shredder.

Great replacement shredder

Our older Fellowes shedder finally had to be retired, because the bin broke and couldn't be replaced. Otherwise we wouldn't have needed to replace it, as it was still going strong after over 15 years of great service. This newer model is every bit as good, indeed better, as it has improved features. Though seemingly a minor matter, the caster feet are a great addition. The Powershred 79Ci also looks great. Looking forward to many years of continued great service from it.

Love My Fellowe's Shredder

I had my last Fellowe's Shredder for many years, and it was wonderful. It finally died, so I knew I needed another Fellowe's. This one has wheels and a few other new features that my oldie didn't have. It is quiet and has safety features that will make me feel safer with my cats around.

Quiet and Reliable, so far.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks. But, so far, so good! I bought this shredderi to replace my old Champion shredder that broke after 10 years of good service. I use it in my home office, so it wont be used very much. I seldom shred more than a few (less than 10) sheets of paper at a time. Thus far the 79Ci does the job well. Very Happy with this replacement shredder, it has more capacity, and power and the looks help the office.

A good value for the price

I bought this to replace one i burned up. I like that I don't need to lift off the top to empty the bin. It just slides out. it does pretty good on Jam Resistance but it does bog down if you put too much in.

Excellent Shredder!!

I purchased this shredder to replace a similar model (PS80C-2) that I have been using for the past 15 or so years. This 79Ci does an excellent job and seems to be as reliable as the old one. For the price, I don't think you can find a better shredder, especially for home use.

I purchased this Fellowes 79Ci Crosscut Shredder because my previous shredder, a single cut Fellowes shredder finally died. The shredder had worked well for about 3 years before it It had a lightening caused electrical short that fried the electric transformer in the wall. I replaced it with a variable transformer from Radio Shack, and it worked fine for another 8 years.before it jammed on a stapled over thick packet of paper. Fellows Powershred 79Ci One of my better purchases!

I bought this shredder to replace my old machine which was over 10 years old. I didn't realize what I was missing until I bought this machine. This unit is fast, quiet and efficient. I had gotten so use to the jams and high pitch noise from my old machine, I never knew such quiet could be obtained from a shredder.

Great Shredder

This is my second Fellows shredder. I purchased this because the first one works so well with no problems! Highly recommend this shredder.

Sturdy and powerful little shredder

The feature I like the most is how quiet this machine is. It's not silent, but definitely not as loud as some other shredders. Just received the machine and tried it out a little bit. Very smooth operation but haven't had much opportunity for jamming at this time. I also like that there are wheels because for a small machine it's not super light. Came with 3 bags and some machine oil.

Office workhorse

We like these shredders so much we purchased 3 more after we've had our first one for at least 5 years, which by the way is still going strong. We do so much shredding that we decided everyone in the office needed one desk side. You can shred quite a few pieces at one time. We get so much junk mail we need to shred it and we don't even have to open the mail, just feed the entire envelope through and it handles it like a champ.

Quietly cleans up clutter

From junk mail with personal information to bills and everything in between, it's such a relief to just have a place to get rid of it all safely. I live in a relatively small place and I realize this was a larger shredder than I needed but it can wheel behind a chair out of sight and is super reliable and QUIET unlike every other one I've encountered. Worth the price. Easy set-up. I'll have to invest in some oil for the blades.

Solid Shredder 79Ci but stupid oversight.

The 79Ci supplied materials were incomplete. Four languages microprinted, but missing the absolutely necessary maintenance instructions- including oiling instructions. Very stupid oversight. Had to go online, download, and print. To me that equates to a ~$10 mistake for my time and effort. Solid performance but expensive realtive to a consumer purchase from China.

Just got it but it's great!

If this 79Ci continues as it has for all day today, it will be the answer to my dreams for a home shredder.
