Exactly what I needed

I bought this outlet so I can program my lights in the living room. My living room is pretty dark when the sun goes down and I always have to go in a turn on the light but with this timer, you don't have to worry about it. It is easy to install given it installs exactly like a typical outlet. I would suggest reading the instructions before you try to program it so you understand all of the buttons. A perfect replacement for a wall switch timer

This indoor wall timer is just what I needed for my outside garage lights. If you use it as a three pole. I would suggest using clear tape in the garage to prevent the accidental use of the other switch.

Too Complex for the average user

For my review of the Eaton Astronomic Timer switch I must confess I’ll be a little critical because I’m a Master Degreed Electrical/Electronic Engineer. For the physical installation: start to finish took me less than 15 minutes including circuit breaker executions, but this excludes programing time (shown below). Programing Basics: I just spent 20 minutes setting the current Time, AM vs PM, Central area for latitude, Daylight Savings, and Dawn to Dust settings. It would have taken less time...

This is a really nice switch! It appears to be well made and attractive to look at. The switch is pretty straight forward to install; however, if you are not comfortable with electricity, call a professional! The directions are well written but can be intimidating when you first open them up. There is a lot of information on there, but a lot of it is many different languages. Perfect For My Needs

The installation was pretty simple and took about 10 to 15 minutes. The timer easily fit it into my electrical box with a two wire hook up and a double switch. The unit is not bulky and sits flush with the switch plate once installed. The instructions explained the programming process very well and to me it was just about as easy as setting an alarm clock since there are dedicated hour/min/prog/day buttons. A nice simple timer for dedicated circuit

A fairly simple to install timer to control a dedicated circuit. Can be used as a simple on/off switch by simply pushing on front cover. Great for an overhead light to help your home look like someone is coming and going. Can be wired for single pole or as part of a 3 way circuit. Good for most types of bulbs up to 1800 watts. Instructions are easy to follow but print is very small.

Perfect for outside lighting!

I installed this for my front outside lights and set them to the dusk to dawn setting so that I don’t have to remember to turn them off and on everyday.

Worthwhile

I had originally accepted this offer so I could put my outside lights on a timer, but after getting into the box, it was too hard to dig out the neutrals, so I moved this to the master bathroom fan. This has proven to be useful because now we can just hold the button on the front of the timer for three seconds and the fan will turn off after a period of time that we determine. This Astronomic Programmable Timer is a great security home tool. It is well labelled for easy installation. The directions show different plan install details and easy to read diagrams. If you have more than one neutral wire you may have to check out each one individually to get the correct one to control your device of choice. Eaton energy saving automatic Timer.

I installed the Eaton Astronomic Timer in a basement refinish project. The Timer was very easy to install in a single PVC handy box. The wiring was fast and final finish was excellent. The unit comes with a screw free faceplate that really polishes off the install. Usage is nice, simple touch the face plate to turn on the timer/lights. A good product that serves its function. This switch is easy enough to install if you have a bit of electrical knowledge. It works great for setting lights on a timer. This is a very good programmable timer. I used it to power on my outside lights and goes on at nighttime. Electronic timer great for outside lights

This switch does NOT come with a face plate. You must purchase it separately if you are replacing a toggle switch. The holes on the back of the switch are not quick connects. This switch REQUIRES a neutral wire to work. While the programming is not too difficult it does take some time to get it right. Then it works like champ.
