Would RecommendJust zip tied the heat tape to the water pipe. Basement water pipe touches the concrete wall so too cold. Read the instructions since that little bump needs to touch the pipe. It is the sensor so it comes on when needed. So far water is fine.

Going with the flow.
Would RecommendAfter several days of temperatures in the teens during the night I was just tired of frozen pipes to my shop. I purchased and installed the pipe heat cable. The installation instructions are the only thing I have found lacking. I have found that a good electrical tape and tie wraps work well. I have had NO frozen pipes since the installation.

If using on PVC pi...
