I purchased this heat cable for my well house pipes. We have had below freezing weather since installation and it performed well. I look forward to water flowing all winter long.

Heat Tape

Wrapped around outside pipes to keep from freezing. Works great. This is the second one I’ve purchased. The first one lasted for years.

It will do whats its designed to do; however...

It will do what its designed to do; however, wrapping insulation around it in tight spaces is tricky. Best to get better plumbing...

May work in some situations

Plumbing run to second floor goes through a small section that is uninsulated between basement foundation and first floor resulting in multiple occasions where pipe will freeze. Lifesaver

First let me say it worked in less than two hours. While waiting I called technical support to ask how long it would take to thaw my frozen pipe. I was told that the product was not designed to thaw pipes, only prevent them from freezing. Sixty minutes later the sound of flowing water met my ears. This product WILL thaw a frozen pipe in an unheated crawl space with an outside temp of 17F. You will need to purchase a roll of electric tape to secure the wire to the pipe.

I forget to shutoff and drain the front yard Rain bird sprinkler system until the wife noticed a garden hose still on the valve out near the street. Everything was frozen and no temps above freezing forecast for the next week. Lowe's had the Pipe Heater Cable in stock. Pipe savers!

These heating cords are pipe savers for sure! Thanks to the extreme cold we have had recently, I have had several frozen water pipes. No one wants to try to fix plumbing issues when it's -10 outside. After fixing the first busted pipes, I invested in three heat cords. Easy to attach to your plumbing. I have them at both ends of my house(which seem to be my trouble spots), and have one for my drain also. Overkill? Maybe, but I won't have to worry about playing in the ice water to fix a busted pip...
