Braided Strength

This Braided Connector was very easy to install, the strength and flexibility of the braided vs. a plastic Connector, where it wouldn't crimp, appears as a big plus. Lets see what occurs, if it ever breaks or the Refrigerator malfunctions?

Just enough give to round the corner

It made the corner to my basement in a tight wall space without feeling like it was under pressure/overextended. I have this going from my basement to my pot filler and the leak protection is a huge plus for me.

GREAT ITEM at a GREAT PRICE

The 10-ft 1/4-in Compression Inlet x 1/4-in Compression Outlet Braided Stainless Steel Ice Maker Connector is very easy to use. It was connect within 5 minutes and there were no leaks. I tested the Flood Defender and it work perfectly. It will prevent major flooding. I highly recommend this product.

Like the Flood control feature

I got this connector to use on my refrigerator because my copper supply line is prone to leaking and this supply line with the neopreme compression seals make leak free connections. I suggert wearing leather gloves when handling this supply line since the one I got has short sharp metal strands protruding from the woven supply line jacket however installing this product was easy, turn off the icemaker water valve, remove the old line and install the new line. This product is well made and constructed of high quality materials. It is very simple to install with only a small adjustable wrench or a properly sized end wrench being the only tool required. Heavy duty quality product

I liked this product for its high pressure braided steel hose and the innovative "flood defender" valve built into it. If the hose were to break or an part of the plumbing in the fridge suddenly let go, the valve would shut off the water. I tested this by connecting the hose to the supply, put the other end in a bucket and slowly turned on the valve. Sure enough when the flow got strong it shut off. Great idea but not a fan of braided steel tubes

We have the plastic tubing for our ice maker currently. Been there for years and no issues. So thought this would be a great idea. But unfortunately I forgot that I needed more than 10ft of tubing. Things I did notice. If you got turns not the easiest to bend and recommended not to bend it. Also when installing make sure your paying attention to the ends. Handy to have for peace of mind.

A water line is a fairly simple device. Never had one leak before, though with each new fridge over the years, I utilize a new ice maker line. I've had other water connectors in the house that utilize an auto-shutoff valve. Quality Material

The flexible connector is made of solid good material and senses a possible leak. I used it on both my refrigerator and my whole house humidifier. This braided flexible supply is easier to use and less chance of kinking compared to 1/4” copper and cheap plastic lines.

I liked the quality and features of this connector, however I found that I couldn't use with my refrigerator hook up unless it was at least 25 ft long since my connection is in the basement (see photo). Perhaps there are homes where the icemaker connection is directly behind the unit but all of my homes had them come through the floor. very nice connector

This is really nice because it is compression fittings plus it is braided stainless steel. Copper can corrode, vinyl is not longer acceptable where I live and installers can not use it. This is great because it is metal and added benefit of being shutoff equipped in case of a leak. Really nice product.

Extremely easy to install

I D-flat defender the Eastman is simply wonderful! It has a 10 foot cord which makes it very convenient to be able to move a refrigerator out away from the wall. It was extremely easy to install! Added protection

Great device add to your ice maker or dishwasher. Steel braided and auto shut off, line shouldn’t burst and and if line or equipment fail, the water will shut off. To reset the device, just shut the water supply off. The line itself is flexible and nice compression fitting.

Installing this ice maker line should be easy for most houses, unfortunately mine is 50 years old and did not have a valve near the fridge. I cut the copper line and bought a shark bite valve to adapt to the flexible copper 1/4-in OD line, and found an FID 1/4" to 1/8" MID adapter so the sharkbite valve would fit the icemaker line. Doesn't work for me.

This product would not work with my ice maker as both connections are female connectors. My setup requires 1 male connector or compression fitting and 1 female connector. Couldn't use it.

Peace of mind

Replacing my existing unreinforced refrigerator water supply line with this new Eastman 10 foot reinforced and check valve supply line was a simple operation completed with a 1/2" wrench. I will now enjoy the comfort knowing if something goes wrong with the supply line the smart valve will turn off the water and not flood my home. A flooded home is not something you want to come home to after a vacation, or just a trip to the store.

This is one of those products that makes you wonder "Why didn't someone think of this years ago?" I have had 2 different floors ruined in my life from a leaking ice maker line. This line is braided steel and has a little sensor valve in it that is supposed to shut the line off if it senses excess water use. Caveat: I have no idea what level of "excess water" shuts it off, since I couldn't find any spec on the package, and I had already hooked it up to my refrigerator otherwise I would have stuck...
