We bought this about a month ago. We have 4 cats and a hairy dog. This vacuum keeps their shedded hair at bay.

Better than the original!

We have the older model for 6 years and when the battery needed replaced we decided to go ahead and buy a new one. I couldn't be happier! It is easier to clean, runs longer, is quieter and overall suction quality is top par.

Best vacuum ever

I love this vacuum. It was easy to set up and is exactly what I was looking for. The easy changing of tools is perfect for pet owners. Definitely recommend!

Love this vacuum.

I have a central vacuum in my home which is the best vacuum I’ve ever had. Having said that I’ve been looking for a small light vacuum for quick cleanups when I don’t want to haul out the long hose. I’ve tried several: Dust devil, shark, etc. None ever came close to my central vac in their ability to clean my floors and carpets. But this Dyson V8 is great. Does a great job. Holy attachments!

Great vacuum but I wish there was a way to just have the on switch hold while vacuuming rather than constantly pressing down on it. The different attachments are great! I received the car cleaner for free but haven't had a chance to use it yet! Great for picking up dog hair on low pile carpeting and super quiet! Very easy to clean the canister.

(Almost) everything I wanted

I bought this for quick clean-ups, stairs and area rugs. I got 2 out of 3. Turns out the suction is just too strong for area rugs — the vacuum locks up when the rug catches in the motorhead (main floor tool). I have had success, though, using the soft dusting brush on small area rugs. Kinda like painting a door with a pastry brush, but it gets the job done. Does the job but not ideal

Works adequately for my needs but this thing is NOT comfortable to hold as all of the weight rests on your thumb next to the trigger. Also, why they thought it would be a good idea to include 6 attachments but only space to store 2 of them on the charging dock is beyond me.

Great cordless vacuum

I bought this vacuum 3 weeks ago to replace my current system and couldn’t be happier. No cords or hoses to trip over or lug from floor to floor. It has great suction and is so light weight.

It really grabs dog hair. I only wish the canister was larger.

Best Purchase

I am please with my vacuum. It has really made cleaning up easier. I actually bought the soft head roller as well for my hard wood floors, and the carpet roller it comes with really picks up per hair like no other.

Love my Dyson

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Dyson V8 after my regular Dyson Animal died after many years. I also watched a friend use hers for two years. This machine vacuums cobwebs and trim more easily than my former machine. Love it!

Not Anywhere Neat the Money!

So very disappointed. Had to convince my wife that this was the best, according to reviews, stick vacuum to buy. Mediocre at best and 8 months later all we get is a not continuous run. I’ve done all the trouble shooting that’s says it’s a blockage. I’ve got daylight all the way … NO Blockage. Do not waste your money!

Really light weight

I am enjoying my new cordless Dyson. I can grab it at any time & do a quick clean job because there are no cords involved. I love how light weight it is. I have bad rheumatoid arthritis & because its so light it makes cleaning a 100% easier & faster. We have 1 dog & 2 cats & it really gets up all the hair.

Better than the DC44 (OG)

I had the original DC44 animal vac, loved it, had extra batteries even. These things can get into small places, the new one is no different. They are light, the V8 feels lighter. Handles stairs real well. So the V8, in regular power has just as much suction as the DC44 on max, I hardly use max at all, doesn’t seem needed. Tile floors are a breeze. The carpet MUST be done on regular, as max is so powerful it doesn’t want to move on the carpet as easy. It feel as strong as floor model. ...

Best cordless vacuum I've ever had. Lightweight, strong suction, great tools, holds a charge for a long time, and easy to empty! I have one for home and office!

I’ve owned several vacuums and this one is the best i have ever owned. Lightweight, powerful, easy to charge, easy to change attachments, Easy to empty trash. I just love it!
