Yes, I bought this a week ago. The fifth generation thinking it was gonna be great. I have A yellow lab who Has a lot of hair dropped off him and I’ve used both brushes one made for wooden floors And also used the one with the brushes and I seem like I’m going back after I vacuum one I have to turn around and it seems like it doesn’t pick it all up. I’m just kind of disappointed with the whole thing. Guess I’m gonna have to go back to the cord Vacuum

Did a lot of research but regret this purchase

I really don’t know how a vacuum this expensive could be so mediocre. Suction is okay. Battery is good. The bin holds enough to pick up the dirt and fur from 3 dogs. However, you can’t clean the roller, gross. And it doesn’t work on any of my area rugs it just turns off because there’s no air to suction :( waste of money

Thought I ordered the outsize , but mistakenly ordered the detect. There are too many different models to choose from. I wanted the biggest, most powerful vac and wanted to get the same model I had ordered several times before. Just too old and make mistakes daily. Not the fault of Dyson, that I hit the wrong button.

Easily the top vac for power and suction, hands down will pick up more simply for that fact alone. ALSO its non illuminated beater bar creates a superior seal between it and the floor no matter the floor type, hardwood being best suited but not limited to. The green laser stuff is just to drive you insane basically, unless you wet mop everyday no vacum can pick up those micro fuzzies stuck to the floor, I’ve tried. In love with the Green Light!

I hate doing housework. A month after my housekeeper injured her shoulder, I knew I needed to pull out my clunky canister vacuum. Friend suggested I purchase the Dyson Gen5drtect Absolute with its green light. Frankly, I thought it world be much ado about nothing. Was I ever wrong …I’m now vacuuming daily and am entertained by all the dust and dog hair the green light spotlights that I otherwise don’t see.

Magical vacuum!!

I love my vacuum! It’s fairly quiet (boost mode gets a little high pitched) the attachment with the green light is my FAVORITE!! I have actually taken my time vacuuming because when it finds more dirt the suction increases and as soon as it’s clean it goes back to normal. I have no need to look at what is being picked up, but the filter shows how big things are that you’re picking up. From dust to dirt and larger pieces. I also love that you can keep track of your battery life. It already lasts...

Great!….Only 1 wish

This Dyson Gen5 Detect Absolute vacuum is great, and I appreciate the soft floor tool for my hardwoods and luxury vinyl floors, but I wish it had rubber wheels rather than the very hard plastic wheels that sometimes feels like it is too harsh (scraping) on the wood as I vacuum back-and-forth and turning in another direction. The battery, suction, noise, filters are great. Thank you!

Love it!

I love it. I got the one for animals and I can see things on the floor I was never aware of!! My dog sneezes 0x a day now. He used to sneeze multiple times. I also am vacuuming almost every day now because it’s so easy. I hate cleaning but now it’s really fun. I love a clean house so much I also bought the bot.

1. Power button is super awkward too control. Needs a UX update. 2. If you go under anything, it scrapes the paint off the wand immediately.

I bought my Dyson approximately one month ago and I have been pleased with its cleaning and noise level. I am also pleased with the battery performance as well as its overall maneuverability and weight.

Great suction for hardwood, but heavy.

I got the Gen five absolute to use on my hardwood and carpet. It did a good job on the hardwood, but couldn’t use it on my carpet. I have returned it because it is top heavy, and I am 76 and can not manage it.

Great battery life and suction

My husband gave me this Dyson for Christmas. Our neighbors also have this model. So far it is performing well!

Really nice upgrade.

I’m very happy I bought the Gen5 Detect Absolute. I was afraid it would be very noisy because of its suction power but was surprised it wasn’t any louder than my V11 Torque Drive Absolute, so happy I upgraded.

The suction is amazing but the battery does not work the time. In auto mode is about 40 min. And no the 70 dyson says. In boost mode is about 12 min. It Is not noisy.

Beater bar shuts off often on normal suction and vaccum has to be turned back on. Machine is heavy and it is difficult to roll accross rug even on normal suction.
