Excellent Vacuum, Highly Recommended
I have had a Dyson V8 for many many years and still works great. I wanted a Gen5 and finally got one. It is worth it. I use it on both rugs and bare floors and am alway amazed at the amount it picks up even when the area looks clean. The vacuum is well balanced so it takes not effort to push it, even on my deep pile carpet. I have vacuumed most the house and never run out of battery power. Since I have allergies I am very glad for the HEPA filtration. I would recommend to anyone.

Would RecommendThe Gen5 Detect works very well. It appears to pick up a lot of dust and fibers that were not being grabbed by our old upright Hoover. It has enough suction on carpets that my wife uses Eco mode to make it easier to push. The vacuum adjust slider on the front of the carpet tool is useful for adjusting to different carpet piles. Frustrated
I am actually very disappointed with my Dyson Gen5detect…. The suction works amazing on my wood floors and I can’t complain but on my carpets it doesn’t work at all. The motor turns completely off, the suction is too hard. I have troubleshooted all of the suggestions with this but so far there is no fix. I literally have to use my old vacuum for my carpet. So beyond frustrated.

Would RecommendLove this Dyson. Have owned others before that I wasn’t happy with, but this one is great. Very strong does a great job on floors and carpets. I was amazed with my first time use on how much it pulled out of the carpet. Has a very large bin and a very long running capacity compared to most others. Able to do my entire home on one charge. Really impressed with its power.

Would RecommendWhen I first learned there was no trigger, I thought oh this might be annoying, but quite the opposite. I actually like not having to keep a trigger pressed to vacuum. Very good idea…the suction is amazing and in the auto mode it changes seamlessly between rugs and tile quickly! Light weight long lasting battery allows me to vacuum 3,000 sq ft of living space.

Yes, I bought this a week ago. The fifth generation thinking it was gonna be great. I have A yellow lab who Has a lot of hair dropped off him and I’ve used both brushes one made for wooden floors And also used the one with the brushes and I seem like I’m going back after I vacuum one I have to turn around and it seems like it doesn’t pick it all up.
