I am having a problem with the power on my rugs. I use the eco level but the vacuum doesn't move on the rug it is too strong, any suggestions? thank you

It pained me greatly to make an investment in a vacuum cleaner. I am really happy that I did. We had another brand that was nice but when a plastic component broke it was time. Love it but need a 2nd battery The light lets me see what is happening at the floor level. Can't believe the dust I can now see.

Worth Every Penny

Outstanding performance, and quiet compared to my plug in vacuums. Laser light is a game changer to see dust/debris on the floor.

Works Great

Traded up from a V10. Significant difference in pick up power, nice feature with the built in crevice tool and brush. Honestly thought the Detect feature was going to be a nothing but it really is a great feature. Battery lasts much longer and it’s quieter than the V10

Battery life disappointing

The biggest downfall for this vacuum is that I cannot clean my whole house without the battery going dead and it takes it so long to recharge.

Meets my Expectations

Have owned this product for two weeks. So far, it has met all my expectations. Great suction, very easy to click attachments on and carefully designed for efficiency. Would highly recommend even tough it is pricey.

I love my GEN5 detect absolute

I own a Sanitare sweeper and i ran it before running my GEN5 detect absolute. Then I ran my GEN5.and I could not believe the amount of dirt I picked up and that was a with a fresh bag in my Sanitare. I will never go back. I’m a Dyson customer for life. Thank you, Dyson!

Best Vacuum ever!!!!

Best investment ever! Very powerful and for those of us with horrible allergies, this is the best vacuum as it catches all of the fine particles. Also, the green light shows you how dirty your floor actually is which was sobering. This thing is amazing!!

LOST THE DISPLAY

Have had this a few months now. The display went out after a month. Had to reboot it to get it to come back on.

I purchased about 2 months ago. I vacuum everyday as I have a greater Swiss mountain dog and Lakeland terrier. The Swiss mountain dog sheds a lot and the Dyson does an incredible job of cleanup. I also like the convenience of the cradle and the charging station. It is so easy to remove and vacuum. It is very lite weight which is greatly appreciated.

Great vacuum!

I had the old DC14 for over 15 years and absolutely loved it but it was pretty wore out. I have a mixture of vinyl floors and carpet so I needed something that would work for both. This has been perfect! I thought my old Dyson had great suction still but this new one puts it to shame. I have a love hate relationship with the cordless part. The Dyson Gen5detect is awesome, gives me all the power I need. The ability to use the various cleaning tools are very helpful in being able to clean in various areas of my home. Great product.

Heavy Vacuum

This vacuum is poorly balanced and far too heavy. It works well, but leaves me injured. Wish I’d purchased a different model.

On & Off Switch is Blessing

After using V11 for 3 years, Found V5 as powerful & amazing. wonder if my old one could be fixed

How does Dyson keep getting better?!!!

I took my out of warranty Dyson in to replace the battery and bought the Gen5detect while I was there. I was blown away by its performance. I have hardwood floors with area rugs and have a Golden Retriever and my adult kids have 3 dogs between them that often come to visit. I used the new vacuum the day after my house was cleaned and picked up a full canister of hair. With the light, I could literally see every hair and dust particle on the floor. The absolute best!

Can’t say enough good things about this vacuum. This has made my life immeasurably easier and my apt so easy to keep spotless. This replaced a 17 year old corded dyson animal that still worked, but boy, was this worth the upgrade! I can keep my entire apt clean in 10 minutes (it’s a small vacation condo).
