Would Not RecommendFirst of all, I NEVER write reviews. I use a product and move on with my life. This thing is so bad I made an exception....I'll admit, I read the dozens of 1 star reviews on here that said "It didn't work". But I went ahead and bought it anyway thinking maybe it was only people writing them that got bad units and everyone else who had a working one simply went about their lives unannounced. Well, they were right. This thing DOES NOT WORK!!! I hit it, nothing. I reloaded and hit it about 8 times ...
Save your time and money
Would Not RecommendI went through two of them. Both tools were missing the firing pin.
This thing is not worth taking out of the package
Would Not RecommendI could not get it to go off even one time despite reading instructions over and over, youtube videos, etc. After wasting WAY too much precious job time, I had to bail on this tool and stop everything to take a trip to the Orange competition where I bought a different brand. It worked perfectly the first time like I thought the DeWalt would. This is the first DeWalt tool out of many which I own that appears to be worthless.
horrable do not buy this is trash wont work
Would Not Recommendout of 50 hits I got one to fire and then I traded it back in for a new one and same garbage.
Inexpensive but not worth the frustration
Would Not RecommendI bought this one because it was a lot cheaper than the trigger style. What a mistake. Even under best conditions you have to hit the 3/4 inch pin in my he handle hard with your hammer 3-6 times (being a big guy i swing a big hammer also!) to Try to get it to fire. 1 in 3 times it works. Never had it fire on the first hit. The spring in the handle is super strong and i would say virtually impossible for small statured people to operate. when it does fire it drives the nail fine. the other 66% o...
Would give zero stars if I could.
Would Not RecommendBought two of these and both would not fire. Wasted 1/2 a day running back and forth to lowes. Even resorted to using a handheld sledge hammer and still would not fire. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER DEWALT TOOL AGAIN.
Total Junk! Read instructions with a magnifying glass. All we got was Do Not Do not. Not a child using this! Duh! And when we used it nothing!! Kept trying and re-read instructions. Tried again nothing! Seems theres no piston! Frustrated. A simple job has turned into a big pain. Hate when stuff doesnt work and get ripped off we are marching right back to Lowes and returning it. Going else where.
worthless... seriously
Would Not RecommendThors hammer couldn't get this thing to fire. seriously dont buy it.. it doesnt work. dont believe me.. check the other reviews.
Firing pin
Would Not RecommendSeems like i have the same problem as everyone else. Bought the p1000 about two weeks ago finally got to use it and it won't fire. Seems there is no firing pin. I will stick to the harbor freight one cheap but at least it works.
Negative Comments are correct
Would Not RecommendDoes not fire when struck. Took multiple shots to get it to fire. Not worth the time and frustration, going back to drill and concrete screws to do what I need around the house. All the negative comments are the same experiences I had.
BANG! Flop
Would Not RecommendPurchased to drive 2x4 base into concrete. Was able to get two nails set and then the Hammer Tool fell apart on the third nail. Decided to go with Loctite PL375 and it went flawlessly.
junk
Would Not RecommendI have a remington that I used for years and it never failed. Bought the Dewalt as my son still has my Remington to finish a project. Bought a P1000 and struck it with same force as I had with my Remington...changed loads as I thought one was bad....nothing and had to use as much force as it would have took to drive a concrete nail manually. After that it would not fire again. Assumed I had a bad one so I returned it and bought another. Same deal...junk. These need to be pulled from the shelf an...
DeWalt Junk
Would Not RecommendI shot one nail with a yellow charge and the shell casing broke at the rim and is stuck in the barrel. I returned the tool along with the .22 yellow shot charges and nails. I'm surprised that DeWalt let a tool like this escape closer quality control. I previously thought DeWalt was the best but now I'm not so sure.
Doesn’t work
Would Not RecommendI bought this tool for the brand, but I've only been disappointed, I've changed it twice in the store and I've just lost my time it just does not work
zero stars was not an option
Would Not RecommendDON"T buy this tool! We wasted at least 30 rounds and had three different people try to get it to work. ONE nail went into the stud/cement like it should. We returned it. I used a Ramset and it worked great, no problems. For such a simple tool, it is terrible.
DITTO
Would Not RecommendFailed to check reviews and purchased on Lowe's sales person recommendation. Firing pin probs. First firing fine. Unable to discharge thereafter. Exchanged. Second one worse, never worked. With 90% negative reviews why is Lowes still carrying this product?? Can't beat the price.....unless 1/2 day lost on project factors in.
rubbber handel
Would RecommendAfter I missed the striker about 10 times the yellow handel split,
Works, though a little finicky
Would RecommendThe nailer definitely works, though I can understand why others may have had some trouble with it. I've found it requires a pretty good whack to go off--enough that I get significantly more consistent results with a framing hammer than with my standard 16-oz. hammer. I've also had a couple cartridges turn sideways. Overall, though, it's worth the price.
