What Customers Are Saying
The product has widespread quality and design issues, with many customers reporting the chuck frequently locks up and becomes unable to release the drill bit, even after minimal use. Concerns were also raised about the chuck's inability to securely hold bits in place during use. Overall, the consensus is that this is a poorly designed and unreliable tool.

Would Not RecommendI bought this with high hopes, what with it carrying the DeWalt name. Very sturdy and solid feelibg. I never even got to use it! First time i opened it back to put a bit in, it would not close. I returned this and will purchase a jacob's chuck. This thing is junk!
Waste of money and drill bits too
Would Not RecommendIt’ll hold to drill bit and never release it again no matter what you do

Made good
Would Not RecommendI can't find a way to add to my previous review, so am putting in a separate one. Previously I had posted what a problem I had with this product. That had not changed. DeWalt did contact me after my review and replaced my chuck and sent a 14 pack of drill bits. Some have stated that they destroyed their chuck getting the bit out. You don't have to hurt the chuck or the bit. Screw out the shank, set the chuck in a vice set open slightly larger then the bit. drive the bit out through the shank op...
perfect!
Would Recommendsaved me the cost of a new drill!! works great, no issues!

Great solution
Would RecommendNeeded an attachment for my impact driver so I could run some drill bits. Saw this and it’s super easy to use and delivered with everything I need. Very satisfied so far

Impact drill to a standard drill look-a-like
Would RecommendI needed this part so I can attach special ends on it that don't have a quick connect attachment.

Another worthless tool from Japan
Would Not RecommendBought two of these (one as a gift and one as mine) and neither one will release the first expensive bit placed in it

Done with it!
I have had this for awhile. My step drill bit would not release, maybe for 1 year. I am done, I cut it off with my bandsaw and am going to replace it with a Jacobs.

Breaks Easily
Would Not RecommendI went through 2 of these chucks, they both failed to work after short, light use, as many others have reviewed here. This product is factory flawed/designed. Avoid this and get the Jacob's instead, which is much cheaper and hasn't given up on me in over a year of use.

Loosens when using
Would Not RecommendAfter securing the Phillips driver bit I found that The bit would loosen and fall out while removing a screw Because the reverse torque with the direction to loosen the bit. After securing the bit really tiightly, it no longer fell out but it locked into the chuck. It might work with a conventional drill but definitely not with a hammer drill

Aweful
Would Not RecommendI went through two of these. The first one I used for a while but it would not release the bit. The store employees couldn't either. I tried the second one before using it to make sure I was doing it right. I tightened and loosened it twice w/o a bit. The second time it would not loosen. NOT WORTH BUYING!!!! I found a lot of info on these and it seems that it is a common problem.
