You get a similar product with out the drying color for about half the cost

Do not purchase this product

Been slinging MUD for 30+ years and this is the worst. New sheetrock wall installed. Bought Dry Dex for normal finishing process; screw holes, all taped joints both tapered & butt. Product wants to slide off paddle, so must pay extra attention to avoid spillage / waste. Poor adherence also shows up during actual application, dropping onto floor, causing increased waste. Same quality also shows if patching larger holes on walls or ceiling on border of needing tape - DryDex oozes out of location, ...

The pink stuff

I really like the pink joint compound. it goes on pink and dry's white. For small jobs when you don't want to wait or guess it lets you know when it's time to sand. Also my can get the cover off and on that's a big plus for me.

Good product

I used this to mud the drywall in a rental property. It went on smoothly and dried quickly.

The compound went on smoothly, dried without shrinkage, sanded easily. Everything you expect from the larger tubs, but made for small jobs.

Makes the finishing much easier not having to get the mixture right. Ready to go right out of the tub.

FABULOUS STUFF

Works very well for the average DYI weekend drywaller! Low or no dust when sanding with a rented Porter Cable sanding machine. Way better than traditional drywall mud for smaller jobs. Dried fairly quick....color change a real help in that regard.

Drydex

Works great, goes on smooth, more like a “finishing” compound. Best stuff I’ve used. Easy to apply.

Worst Product Ever Used

Perhaps I expected too much. Working on a remodel project purchased to repair nail holes, scratches and seams. the product flowed out of even the smallest holes after tow days of drying time the larger cracks are still soft. Went and purchased a different product I have previously used. Spent the morning removing the "pink stuff" and refilling the repairs.

Very good product

Compound goes on easily, covers well and the best part is you can level it with a damp sponge. I used a large heavy duty sponge. smoothed evenly and no sandpaper dust on everything.

Good for a small job

Worked well for a small repair job i needed to do after opening up a wall to access plumbing.

light sanding

this is great for time management. goes on pink, dries white, giving you the ability to move on to other aspects of your project and know exactly when it's ready to sand.

Joint Compound

I was very disappointed. I have used this product previously and it worked nicely. This new product did not perform well. Sanding dust was less but strength was weak. After sanding when painting some of the compound pulled off the tape. I am returning for a refund.
