What Customers Are Saying
This tape measure appears to be a well-designed product with several useful features, including large, easy-to-read numbers, sturdy construction, and a reliable retraction mechanism. While some users reported issues with the tape bending or becoming damaged over time, the majority of feedback indicates this is a high-quality tool that provides good value. The spring-loaded retraction can be a bit abrupt, but the overall product quality and additional features like a double-ended hook make this a generally positive option for users.

Would RecommendIt’s a tape measure, so how much can be said. Well I’ll say I’ve owned several over the years and this one is pretty darn good. The blade has a matte finish and is easy to read with your standard 1/16” increments on both edges. It includes other construction increments for various ‘on center’ measures. The belt clip is tight, and the thumb lock is good. I really like the hook - both the standard down facing tab, and bunny ear tab that point up which make it easy to read without having to t...
Crescent Lufkin Control Series 25' tape measure
Would RecommendI can always use an extra tape measure - because they are never where I need them (garage, basement, toolbag, kitchen) and I tend to help them meet their demise by dropping or getting dirt in them. This is a sturdy one with a strong spring return and wide tape width (1"). The case is 3.25" square by 1.75" thick. The wider, thicker tape allows you to run it out 10'+ without it snapping down under its own weight. Many of the average ones are narrower/thinner. It has Foot, Inch, and Stud...
Stands out
Would RecommendAnother tape measure, another feature to diversity it. This one has a opening on the bottom side so your finger can hold the blade in place instead of using a lock..... I am not sure about this feature. I just wish they would come back out with the tape measure that had the automatically locking blade and then you just squeeze the bottom finger lock it to retract it. I miss those. Back to this one, it is easy to read, had a great stand out distance of 10+ ft and a large tap on the end to e...
Couple good features
Would RecommendNot my go to, but back up. I like the hook on the tape doesn’t seem to slip also enjoy the finger control in bottom of tape. I was able extend tape out to 12ft before it collapsed. The lock on not user friendly, need to be slightly larger.
Tough tape measure!
Would RecommendThis tape measure is great! It is very well and and very durable. It has a nice clip on it so you can attach it to almost anything. I would highly recommend this product to any on looking.
Big numbers makes the difference...
Would RecommendI do not use a measuring tape very often but when I do this is the one I will be using from now on. I just love that it has big numbers that are easy to read. The tape feels sturdy and opens/closes with ease. The construction also feels like it can take a bit of a beating. The belt clip is strong and is easy to add or remove from my belt. I can tell that it is constructed very well and appears that it will hold up over time. As you can see in one of the photos, I usually have to replace deck...
Great tape measure
Would RecommendI love it, Great measuring tape. It makes measuring over head a whole lot easier and the tape break with you finger is ok too. The tape is strong too runs out over 9 feet before it breaks down. Handy for do it yourself projects, Also the small hole in the end of the tape is perfect for a small nail or screw to make perfect circles with just a measuring tape and a pencil. Great Idea. Love this tape. I would highly recommend it to anyone..
Decent Tape Measure
Would RecommendI am partial to tape measures with a stiffer blade but this is still a decent tape. It's main new feature is an open area on the bottom of the tape that you can use to slow the tape down when it is retracting. I find it slightly easier that doing the same right at the front of the tape like I usually do but I have bigger hands and so this might be a very handy feature if your hands are a bit smaller. I do like the taller and wider hook on the end, which makes it catch easier when using it.
Nice Tape
Would RecommendWhile there isn't a lot to say about a tape measure, I can say the markings are easy to read, the end clasp does well at holding onto the end of whatever you're measuring and the tape is rigid enough to make a long reach without breaking/folding. One nice extra feature this has is the cutout at the bottom (see picture) that allows you to put your finger on the tape to hold it without using the lock and to slow it down when retracting it. It's also nice that the area around the slide lock is rais...
Yet another great tape from Crescent!
Would RecommendComparing this to my daily-use Shock force tape from Crescent, I’m a little torn. They’re both fantastic tools that are built to take some abuse, but each has little features I like over the other. The control series has a little opening under the tape where you can use your finger as the brake (I commonly do) which is really nice. They. It’s offer a bumper of sorts to protect the locking mechanism. The shock force tape has a diamond coating on the top of the blade, but the control series does n...
Really solid tape measure
Would RecommendThis is one of the better tapes I’ve owned. And I’ve had my share. It’s solid, had it knocked off a table by a pipe and it bounced off the floor and didn’t even unlock. Didn’t mess up or get a kink in it. The tape is wide and strong, extended 8’ and held, see photo. It’d got a clear marking of the length of the casing to add to measurements which is nice. The catch on the end is solid, though I do sorta wish it had a magnet, but not being picky. I think this one will last me a good long tim...
Solid Tape Measure
Would RecommendWell ladies and gents you have come to lowes to buy a tape measure and are wondering if this one is good. Yep it is! It has easy to read numbers and lines and is not worn out like my last one. It's very sturdy and while I did not double check the lines they seem to be right on point. At least the trim piece I cut came out well enough to slip in the corner I needed it to. The finger brake is a new concept for me so I am not quite sure how I feel about it. However, this old dog might grow to like ...
Seems durable and well built
Would RecommendAs a framer / deck builder I would consider myself a tape measure expert. I've tried a number of different brands and styles. I am particularly fond of the Stanley fat max. I was asked to use and review this tape measure. I'm not very familiar with the brand crescent Lufkin. My first impressions are that it is a durable shell, and seems well built. One feature I do like is the end hook. It is bigger and has a shape that makes it easy to grab hook onto nails or boards. One downside is that it doe...
A Solid Tape Measure
Would RecommendThis is a pretty nice tape measure. The size, shape, and weight are all about what you’d expect for a solid 25’ tape. There are a couple of things that stand out as really nice about this tape. First, you can extend the tape without it breaking nearly 12’, although by 9’ it does sag dramatically. The latch on the end extends both up and down, meaning that you can hook it on the underside of something (like a countertop), and have the numbers side of the tape facing up. It also has a hole on ...
Very Nice Tape Measure
Would RecommendI have had many tape measures over the years and it would seem like the tape measure could not be improved that much but companies keep innovating these things to make them better and easier to use. The feature that I like the most about this one is the matte finish on the tape itself which is very easy to read in bright light. The hook on the end is large enough to grab onto things without falling off. The tape measure has excellent stand-out. I was able to get it to stand out 11-12 feet. ...
Solid tape measure
Would RecommendSolid tape measure, seems like it would stand up to a lot of abuse. The finger brake is a nice way to use it without having to worry about my fingers. The ability to have it standout by itself makes it easy to work alone. Do wish it also had centimeters.
Built to last.
Would RecommendOK, so I am thinking what can really be done to make a tape measure. So, here is what was done: Solid build quality. The print on the tape is larger. The tape has a nice matt finish and a coating to make it last longer. Smooth movement. The spot under the pull tab has a hole to allow your finger or thumb a place to act as a break when retracting the blade. On the body of the case is a set of slots for a lanyard. A nice feature is that you can extend the blade up to 12 feet. That com...
good quality tape measure
Would RecommendThis is a comfortable tape measure in your hand. It has a lock button and it has a finger brake which is very convenient. The end hook really stays on the material you are measuring. Overall it is a solid tape measure.
Impressive
Would RecommendFinally a tape that is easy to read with the flat finish and perfect markings. This tape has a nice bevel so not to break as you reach long lengths. Also the multi end hooks to just about anything. Plus when you are read to reel in this beast of a tape, the finger spot for breaking is nice and smooth. No more breaking the spring with tape slap nor pinching your finger. It's a keeper.
Great quality! Easy to use.
Would RecommendThe first thing that stood out was it’s quality. It is made out of rigid material, tape measure roll does not easily bend, it also has holes at the tip to hold it in place as a single user. It’s big easy to read numbers certainly help too. Nicely packaged too.
