What Customers Are Saying
The Cobra flat tape sewer rod is a useful tool for clearing clogged drains and sewer lines. Many customers found it effective at removing blockages, especially in straight pipes, and appreciated its compact design. However, some reported issues when dealing with bends or turns in the pipes, and the plastic housing was seen as a potential weak point. Overall, it is a budget-friendly option for basic drain clearing, but may not be suitable for more complex plumbing problems.

Would RecommendThe product worked Okay but you better have some gloves handy because it is very stiff and hard to make go through the elbows in the pipe. You have to use some elbow grease to get it to go through some of the bends. Otherwise it did what it was designed to do.

Poor design
Would Not RecommendThe first time I used this product I extended the snake to the full length and the end was not attached to the housing. So the snake came completely out of the housing and was unable to reinsert it into the housing. So it is really a waist of money.

Worth the money
Would RecommendThis was my first drain blockage experience. I looked up a few different products on Lowes.com but given the reviews I guessed that this one would be best for my particular problem. Item worked great! Just like the reviews suggest - Use Gloves! I don't think this would have been as effective on a job that has more angled pipes than mine did but as you can see in the picture I used this for the drain in my backyard that leads from the house to the sewer line. Start to finish took about 10 minutes...
Big Money Saver
Would RecommendHad plumber run a camera down a main line of a rental property and found a tree root at a combination fitting that connects the main line to the master tub. The camera was able to push through the plug in the main line and the line was cleared and flowing again. He also ran an auger down the line to get rid of some of the root. Total cost for 1/2 hr of work... $300. About 6 months later, the house began to back up again so I decided to get online and look for an auger because I didn't want to s...
Only practical for straight pipe
Would Not RecommendThis took well over an hour and a lot of struggling just to get it around the first bend, six inches inside of the clean-out. Once inside the pipe, it was a little difficult to feed, sliding the handle does not work as described in the instructions, and you have to use force. Eventually, I made it out 30 ft. to the main drain going out of the house, where it met up with the elbow there. It obviously would not traverse this elbow, and the clog remained unchanged. It may work well in straight pipe...
GREAT TOOL WELL WORTH THE MONEY
Would RecommendThe day before I spent 5 hours trying to clear the main sewer line that was clogged by flour that was building up from the last few weeks. No luck at all. So today I bought this tool and it cleared the drain with two pushes againt a huge blockage of flour. Then I pour very hot water down the sewer line and it flushed everything out. This tool only took 10 mins. total to do the job. very well worth the money and it saved me alot of time. I told my wife not to put flour down the drain anymore.
Did the trick!
Would RecommendHad a backed up Kitchen sink. PVC was clear to the standpipe. It 90'd down just inside the wall so I took the auger to the roof to the vent tube. Fed it down easily and felt the obstruction. 2 push-pulls and it broke through. It is a mess to retrieve so you should wear gloves. Otherwise, worked like a charm!
Worth the money spent!!!
Would RecommendWe had the plumber in twice to unblock within a year's period. The Cobra sewer rod easily unblocked the blockage which was 10ft away. We now have a sewer rod that we can use for any future blockages. I hope we dont have to use it again now that we have fixed our sewer pipe. Products is compact and stores flat as shown in picture
Worked great! Saved me about $150 .
Would RecommendGreat customer Service at the Lowe's in Fort Oglethorpe GA. Got in and got what I needed at a reasonable price. Got home and cleaned out sewer line to septic tank . Saved me about $150. And know I have the tool in case I need it again. Only suggestion is be gentle when unrolling or rolling up tool.
