What Customers Are Saying
The trimmer has a mixed performance. On the positive side, it is praised for its power, ease of use, and ergonomic design, handling thick weeds and grass effectively. Features like the tap-and-go string feed and low-vibration engine are appreciated. However, many users report reliability and durability issues, with problems like failure to start, broken pull cords, and trimmer head coming apart after limited use. Replacement parts availability is also a concern. Overall, the trimmer appears capable when functioning, but quality and consistency are inconsistent.

Would Not RecommendI was pretty excited when I bought it... a straight shaft trimmer for $179. It started easily... but it wouldn't pay out line and the trim head broke and flew apart within a couple of minutes. After closer inspection, there isn't hardly any plastic holding it together... no wonder it broke. I will be returning it for a refund and buying an Echo or a Stihl.
Trimmer Head Needs Redesign
Would RecommendAfter 4 hours of use, one eyelet on the trimmer head popped loose and fell off....naturally, I couldn't find it on the ground. I now have to buy a new trimmer head. I'll glue the new eyelets before use. Other than that a great trimmer, always starts on second pull. Beware, use only premix gas 40:1 or mix your own with non-ethanol. Not doing so will destroy the carb. I went through this exercise with my old Craftsman trimmer and replaced several carbs before learning my lesson. Watch those eyele...
Thumbs up
Would RecommendI have only used it 3 times, however ever works great and starts right up.
Great trimmer, easy to use
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fantastic trimmer overall. It was very easy to put together. The pole came detached, was easily joined, and the handle and other components were easty to attach. I really liked that you could extend the string at the tap of a button. It is not heavy, easy to maneuver, has a commercial grade engine, trimmed my front yard very well, and I really liked that it has other accessories I am looking forward to try, as add-ons. The only slight...

Poor Bump Head Design
Would Not RecommendThe design of the head is such that you better not accidentally bump into anything solid, if so the head flies apart . The eyelets will most likely disappear as well as the internal compression spring. Eyelets and replacement head are available. The head is currently $14, but if you need a replacement spring - you're out of luck. Craftsman doesn't have a part number! Search on the internet for a replacement spring is difficult w/o part number or specification. The head should be made of metal, n...

Good
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this instead of hiring a gardener and it gets the job done quickly and easy. It cuts the grass perfectly and the trimmer isn’t too heavy it’s very light weight which makes it so much easier to cut the grass without being too winded. It uses gas but it doesn’t use or burn that much gas. It’s built very well with great quality. I enjoy using this thing and I actually now look forward to cutting the grass and lawn.

Followed instructions to the t on how to start. It is a pain to start. Plus it is deadening when running. Never heard a trimmer so loud

Craftsman WS2400 Great Trimmer
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was very easy to put together. It's design so you can tap the string holder on the ground and will extend the string Which is nice you can just keep going. The motor started up after 3 pulls. It's not all that heavy I was able to trim yard pretty fast. I'm looking forward to trying the edger which I didn't get yet but going to. You can't go wrong with the The craftsman WS2400.

Fun and Easy to use
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is something very graitifieng about using this weed wacker to take out the weeds in my yard. I feel joy when the weeds in my yard begin to grow because they are so fun to knock down. Last week the grass in my yard was due for a trim (and weeds), and my lawn mower quit working on me. I took down the entire yard using this trimmer and it really took no time at all. Starting it up is so easy, and it fires up the first time, every time. ...

Bought the string trimmer and a can of fuel. After assembly and filling the tanki following the directions and it was really hard to start. Once running the string head vibrates and shook violently. I shut it down and the head had play in it and would not restart. I had to return to Lowes and replaced with a Husqvarna 128LD.

weedwacker with great features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Craftsman WS2400 27-cc 2-cycle 18-in is my first gas powered weedwacker. I’ve always had an electric one. During one weedwacker session, I would have to move the extension cord at least five times. The Craftsman WS2400 27-cc 2-cycle 18-in allows me to move freely without an extension cord. The Craftsman WS2400 27-cc 2-cycle 18-in is powerful and easy to use. Assembling the weedwacker was just as easy. It came in two pieces: the motor,...
