What Customers Are Saying
The trimmer has a mixed performance. On the positive side, it is praised for its power, ease of use, and ergonomic design, handling thick weeds and grass effectively. Features like the tap-and-go string feed and low-vibration engine are appreciated. However, many users report reliability and durability issues, with problems like failure to start, broken pull cords, and trimmer head coming apart after limited use. Replacement parts availability is also a concern. Overall, the trimmer appears capable when functioning, but quality and consistency are inconsistent.

Lasted a year before it stop working.
Would Not RecommendI've had two trimmers from Lowes now both craftsman and they both lasted just about a year to 1.5 years before they stopped working. Time to start looking elsewhere.

Third Season
Would RecommendThis weed eater is on its third season and has never given me an issue. I only use the store bought premixed fuel in it. Very easy to string I only wish it had some kind of sling with it as it gets a little heavy after a while.
JUNK
Would Not RecommendAnother waste of money (Craftsman blower was also junk), this thing refused to start most of the time, Craftsman isn't what it used to be. Buy something else that will last and most importantly START. No more Craftsman for me.

When it Works
Would Not RecommendGreat product when it works. I've purchased two--pull cord fell out the first one. Now, with the second one, I have spent 4 days trying to get it to start. Replaced sparkplug, gas, and cleaned air filter--no avail. Contacted Craftsman and was sent to MTD. Currently getting the runaround about a service center. One doesn't honor warranties on products they didn't sell, even though they are on the MTD list. The other doesn't have a working phone number. The rest are over 60 miles away.
Fell apart - dangerous
Would Not RecommendI agree with all the other 1 star reviews. Used it 3 times - trimmer line kept snapping then the whole spinning head head flew apart mid-use. Eyelets that the trimmer line is fed through have gone making the whole thing useless!!

Meh... not worth it
Would Not RecommendWhen it wants to run, it is powerful. I however, have the same issues with the machine not wanting to start, I have followed the instructions. The pull cord is also starting to fall apart on me as well. This thing is less than 2 months old. I only used it 3 times.

No replacement parts
Would Not RecommendThis is a throwaway tool. There does not seem to be parts available to fix this tool when it goes bad. Can’t find a replacement carb anywhere. Buy from a regular lawn equipment store or you are only buying a one season tool.

Makes quick work of tall grass/weeds with ease
Would RecommendTrimmer line included was old and brittle, but once replaced, it cut through the tall grass/weeds with ease.

What a Fool I am
Would Not RecommendThinking this was 'commercial grade'. well it isn't. It is easy to put together. It is not easy to start. In fact, giving Craftsman the benefit of the doubt, I made sure to use 'new' fuel, follow directions etc. The only thing accomplished is a sore shoulder from trying to start this garbage. So tomorrow, it will be returned, and I will never venture into purchasing Craftsman lawn equipment again
Craftsman is a good product
