1. make sure your windows is updated 2. Then download the zip file 3. Unzip the file with 7zip or winrar.. 4. double click the application install it .5. the rest is easy ..4 stars because it doesnt do ram jeep or chrysler

Very crappy! Won't update and won't scan. I do NOT recommend buying this thing to anyone

Limited US manufacturer vehicles supported

This code reader comes with a whole lot of supported vehicle manufacturers like - Range Rover, FIAT, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Suzuki and more........... BUT But it doesn't apparently support RAM, Dodge, Jeep products. Chrysler and FIAT are, but not the full line. Too Bad............ ZERO STARS

Useful Tool But like other have stated im trying to update the thing and once i download it the file is nowhere to be found can you plz help

Helpful but not on all cars

Bought this code reader to read codes on my personal fleet liked the size of the product simple to use plugged it in to my truck after I purchased it pulled up both the o2 sensors witch I knew about but when I got home plugged it in my ford 350 van and have power can test battery but it won’t connect to read codes same again when I plugged it in to my trailblazer battery test no codes plug it in to the suburban everything works should of spent a little more I feel and got a better reader I guess...

No real complaints beyond download difficulties

I haven't really used this yet so I am leaving it at 4 stars for now. If it will allow me to update later I will. Hopefully to 5 stars. If it turns out this is no good, and I can't change my rating, I will just leave another. If it turns out it is good, but I can't update, then the 4 stars can stay, as there is one minor issue, and that is downloading the software to my PC from this page. Love this thing! Great value for the price.

Does everything I need as a non-professional. Built fairly sturdy, buttons feel nice. Menus and interface are nicely laid out and easy to navigate. For those who are unable to update the software, not sure if this was a recent addition but there is a download link on this product page where it says "update software here". Good code reader

Very capable and cost effective. Every vehicle should have a stand alone OBD2 code reader, not an app or attachment to a cellphone. This is inexpensive enough that I got two - one for each car. Very easy to operate and read - buttons are clearly marked and there aren't a ton of buttons and icons to confuse the user.

How do you update the software in this OBDII code?

I see quite a number of users are unable to update this OBDII code reader. Where is the download file located after download?

Good for reading codes and diagnosing misfires.

Neat now make it work.

plug it in to my truck and i get power it will preform a battery test I believe. but i can not get it to read any codes. yes i know i has 2 of them 1 for a misfire on 8 and a knock senser bank 2. verified by 2 other obd2 reader but i can not get this one to talk to the truck.

I also need assistance with the updates. I believe that I have read all the reviews, followed all the directions and still cannot download the updates. I would appreciate assistance and guidance.

Craftsman OBD2 Code Reader CMMT77693

I bought this product and am very excited to use is but as with some of the other reviews I Dont seem to be able to update the the software. I will come back to finish my review as soon as we get this figured out and I use the product. Right now I have no experience using the code reader but i did figure out how to change the settings to english so that is a good start.

wont hook up to vehicles

i have tried and tried and many vehicles it wont even connect with i have tried to download update and cant update from the website because it wont do anything honestly first time bought a craftsman and thinking its going to be the last honestly thinking of going to get my money back and return it and go get a different one cause this one so far sucks

How to download the software

To get the Soft ware, Right click on the link, Select Copy Link Address, Open a New Browser window, Right Click on Box at the top of Browser and Select Paste. It will bring up a download box. just download it.

No problems with it, worked like a charm right out of the box I would recommend this tool to anyone.

Give me a ticket # as well

wont read my 2003 Chrysler.. 3 othe scanners all will read it.. software link seems to be dead.. disappointed as this doesnt suit the craftsman name

Cannot download software

Like others have commented, I cannot download the software - get message that it is not safe. Please advise

Can not download updates

I have been trying to download the updates and it is saying that it cannot download safely. I am running windows 10 on my computer. Is there something that I am doing incorrectly? I clicked the link that says update now.
