Watched a couple videos online before this purchase, needed for an emergency. There were a few tips we used before purchasing this to make sure everything would be ready and what else we could need to buy at the same time. Had no problems with assembly, all parts in the box, started and thankfully we didn't need to use it.

Six hour nightmare

I wanted to purchase a portable generator for emergencies. This one seemed reasonably priced and had the Craftsman name. I should have known better having bought a Craftsman pressure washer with the Briggs engine a few months ago that I never could get the engine to crank.. Finally gave up and returned it to Lowes. Good at First, but Fails when needed most

This generator fired up and ran like a champ out of the box. Fast forward several months and the thing won’t run. I have disassembled the carburetor and completely cleaned it out, changed the oil, drained all fuel and replaced with ethanol free, cleaned the fuel lines. It will try to start with some starter spray but dies out before taking in any fuel on its own. Worth the Money

Started right up, seems very quiet and I like that it has a CO detector on it. Not that I run it inside, but it's a nice touch. Also, it's not too heavy and I'm able to move it around very easily.

had issues from first use.

1st time i started it up, it would surge if not under pretty heavy load. Adjusted springs and got it to run ok. Every trip I have used it has required me to mess with the throttle springs to keep it from surging with a light load. On first camping trip it cut the pull rope after a day of use powering my RV. There loss was my gain

I am very pleased with this product. Someone brought this back because they said it would not start. Lowe’s sent it out to be checked. The manufacturer found nothing wrong with it and sent it back as refurbished. I got it for half price. Took it home and tested it out right away. It started right up and plugged in leaf blower and freezer and fan. It ran them all without a problem. Very happy with this purchase.

Not dependable, won't start after one use

This product started the first time I needed it. However, the next time I lost power in a storm, it would not start. I followed the troubleshooting guide several times and still didn't work. I watched YouTube videos to learn how to start a troubling generator, tried every tip (all not in the instruction booklet), drained the fuel line, tried carb spray, fresh fuel etc. Changed the oil. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a very large yard and at the very end is my large shed and compost piles my leaf chipper will not work with 3 100 ft cords to the house the leaf chipper motor will not run so I use the generator that gives me the power I need, it also helps me with trimming bushes , bouncy houses and outdoor lights for party’s.
