New and improved design.

It works very well, but differently. I have an older craftsman model, probably almost 15 years old. It was used weekly to detail our 3-1/2 acres. This new one has some much needed improvements to the mow ball and string holder. I don’t like that you have to release the flywheel to start it versus engaging the cutter after it starts. Other than that, it’s a very good unit.

Order extra strings from the model in manual.

So light weight and easy for me with my bad neck. Amazing Easy pull. 65 yr old with bad back and neck. Works great.

It is a workhorse

so much easier than lugging a weed eater to get to places you thought you wouldnt be able to get to

Started twice for less than 5 min

We were really excited about using it to trim our yard. It was really difficult to start. When it started, it stayed on for less than 5 minutes. We could not get it to start again that same day. The following day, it started after several attempts. Again, it stayed on for less than 5 minutes. I had to return it.

No accessories for cutting larger saplings

Easy to get out of the box and get started. Started on the first pull. Works great on pasture grass and weeds and some smaller saplings, 1/4 inch or less diameter. Takes .155 inch replacement string. String easy to install.

do not buy

unit came with gas in tank and it is hard starting. also the cover for the recoil has not been properly fasten, missing screws. not happy with unit. Cuts fine when you first start and use, but when you take a break and come back to use it won't until you let it sit overnight. floods too easily and have to open and remove air filter for unit to air out

Good worker for general brush clearing; powerful.

Well made, but not suitable for most of my needs. Workmanship is good, and the 159cc motor give it plenty of power for bush-clearing. Doesn't work as well for edging and delicate trimming (have to tilt the angle and is more taxing than hand-held trimmers). Also disappointed that 22" trimmer line is not readily available; line requires replacement often for peak performance.

Runs like a champ

Not really good on hills; it likes to try to tip over even on relatively gentle slopes. Wider wheels would improve this. This forces you to always work up or down hill, but hey, I need the exercise.

Starts and stalls

It doesn’t work and will be returned to the store. It started up the first time, was used for about fifteen minutes. Was cumbersome and hard to push. Second time it starts and then stalls out. Starts and stalls. Won’t even work now. So i only got about fifteen minutes of use before it crapped out.

Not great

Used it yesterday 2nd time since purchase and tye bolts fell out of the wheels and they fell off. Kept putting them back on over and over

It's great and easy to move around. It is a very hard worker!

Tried twice won’t try for a third time!

I bought this last April, Worked great the first time after that it wouldn’t start. Brought it back to the store to exchange. New one started fine and did the job. Three weeks later I go to use it and it won’t start. Very frustrating and disappointing.
