What Customers Are Saying
The product performs well for cutting smaller diameter PVC pipes up to 1 inch, providing clean, straight cuts. However, it struggles with larger pipes 2 inches and above, often crushing, shattering, or failing to make clean cuts. Durability and longevity are major concerns, with many users reporting the cutter breaking or becoming unusable after just a few uses, even on smaller pipes. The overall quality and reliability of the product seem inconsistent.

Would Not RecommendPurchased yesterday will be taking back, 1 inch PVC unless it is over 75 degrees will warp the blade, long lasting result is uneven cuts and if it is less than 70 the last ¼ inch will break off and leave uneven PVC edge to clean up. Would not recomend!
easy to use
Would RecommendI had an older PVC cutter, it was not ratcheted. Spend the few extra dollars and go with the ratcheted model. I had to repair my home irrigation system and this cut through the PVC pipe like butter. I wish they had these when I was installing and repairing irrigation systems back in HS and college. It made quick work of the 1" line, the cut was clean and it did not require me to man handle the cutter. Keep a few extra blades on hand to ensure a quick and smooth cut. I plan to use it to make an i...

crushes schedule 40
Would Not RecommendLike so many others have reported, this tool just crushes a schedule 40 rather than cutting it, no matter how careful and gradual you apply the pressure. Works okay for smaller ABS, though, so I’ll just use it for that.

Worked for me but size advertised is incorrect.
Would RecommendThis says it's up to 2.5". That is incorrect, as it only goes to 2". Worked great for me, I didn't have the issues that others had. Those complaining about crooked cuts were using it wrong.
Broke after 2 cuts.
Would Not RecommendCutting 2 in PVC. After the second cut the blade would not reset to the open position. I tried pulling it back but it would not move.

Ratchet mechanism broke, shattered pipe
Would Not RecommendI should have read the review before purchasing. On my first attempted cut on 2" PVC (about a 4" cut) the cutters shattered the pipe instead of cutting it. I figured ok, I cut too close to the end... well can't even attempt a 2nd cut as the ratcheting mechanism broke after that first failed attempt. These cutters are total junk. Those of you with the same problems, what did you end up doing?

Cut Fine For Me
Would Not RecommendHeaded to Lowes to buy some 1-1/4" and 1" Sch 40 Pipe and fittings (Elbows). I had a lot of cuts to make as I was installing a whole house Iron/Sulfur Filter and Water Softener. Asked the assistant if he had something that would cut PVC easier then a hacksaw and he gave me these cutters. During the install I probably did 20 cuts and all cut straight and smooth. Not sure why others had issues but it cut fine for me. The issue I did have was the blade did not go into the open position consistently...
Works like it should
I bought this cutter a while and redid all the draine lines in the House with no problems. I am considering the 1 1/2 inch for the supply lines to get into the tighter spots. If you are complaining about the pipe crushing or breaking it is probably old pipe. The new pipe I put in cut like butter.
Broke in a week
Would Not RecommendUsed this for a week and just today I tried cutting 2" PVC and the ratcheting mechanism broke. Need to buy a new cutter as I'm an apprentice and would rather not use a hacksaw or sawzall every time I need to cut pipe.

Blade bent then chipped. no find replacement blade
Would Not RecommendI was cutting old PVC from my Pool equipment and it bent the blade. and then the next cut it took out a chip and now I cannot cut anything with it. I cannot find replacement blades to fix it. It looked like a good solution on the soft new pipe but dry brittle pipe was too much for it.

Great for poly pipe - not pvc
Would Not RecommendI had the same experience as others when cutting pvc pipe.. distorting the pipe shape, then breaking it. So, for pvc, I went back to my miter saw with an abrasive cut-off blade. Does a great job with no burrs. But I actually bought this tool to cut 1" 250 psi polyethylene pipe. I had about 100 cuts to make and my small cutter wouldn't get around the pipe in 1 bite... So I had to work my way around the pipe. This cutter handles the pipe easily and provides more leverage, a blessing for my hands...

Works great on 1-1/4" and 3/4" Form-U-Fit pipe!
Would RecommendI bought this tool to use first on 1-1/4" and 3/4" Form-U-Fit PVC pipe. I followed the instructions and went slowly while carefully checking and keeping the pipe squarely aligned. Makes perfectly clean and square cuts! Didn't require any filing at all! These are the only two sizes I've tried so far. No more hacksaw and filing for me! I should have bought this tool a long time ago!

Would Not RecommendThis cutter is so flexable, it won't even cut CPVC at a 90° angle. Won't be using it much.

Bought even with all the bad reviews.
Would RecommendI bought this to cut pvc to make a play pen and was pleasantly surprised. I figured it wouldn't work well after the reviews but the store options were limited for this size pipe I was using. My only complaint is the squareness of the cuts. They were better than using a hacksaw but not as square as I wanted.
